What about Highlander?

It would be a cool rpg and you have 6 seasons to draw from. There was a Highlander game being made a long time ago from Thunder Mountian and later Tundra. There was a game called legacy that was almost the same thing but it went out of print and battlefield press has it but seems to be too small of a company to make it happen. Legacy would be a prefect flaming cobra product. :D

Highlander would make a good game for a RPG (modern fantasy) however, continuity is a nightmare.

500 year old immortals turning up at the same major historic events just because … (even in the TV series there was a case of Duncan being in two places at once!!!)

Also the franchise seems to be dead at the moment (some word of a reboot film last year).

I would say just the opposite. If a being counts its lifespan in centuries, there is little restraint to the matters of continuity. After all there's plenty of time gaps that can be used to fill in the blanks in this aspect.

Wouldn't that reduce cost of purchasing publishing rights?

As long as it avoids the weaker stuff like the anime or french cartoon series(or the source movie since thats utter drivel) then it should be ok as an rpg licence, its probably a case of who owns the rights at the moment though and if you'd need to get separate rights from the french co production team(studio canal i believe) aswell for euro release?

Would make for an interesting setting though and would probably fit the wayfarer system easily(also the dues vult and vikings books could be used for the flashback stuff if characters were from those regions).
