What scale will you use for World at War, 1/72 or 28mm??

what i mean is, at tourni's that you hold you cnt have different people playing different sized base / vehicle.

i know with ACTA it didn't matter, but with a skirmish game it does i think.

I voted 28mm as I already have American and German forces in this scale. Also companies like Bolt Action, Victory Force, West Wind, etc provide everything imaginable in this scale. Not to mention the vast selection of Corgi, etc. die cast available.

Simple solution in tourneys.
3mm thick mdf boards for the 1/72 armor.
Figures scales don't really matter for gaming, no matter the size its still a gaming piece.

I'm gonna use a mix of 1/64 and 1/72. They look close enough on the table.

I assume you are going to put SOME limitations?-) Just so that someone doesn't get bright idea of coming around with 2mm scale models ;-) Pretty easy to get into cover with those buggers :lol:

Everything is measured from center to center so it's really only an issue if you start arguing Cover/LOS. and then it should still be the same. :wink:

When i finally got time to playtest I used 15mm - worked fine, and looked mor ein keeping with the ground scale too.

also I will be going with 1/72, as i've found 3 or 5 coffee jars full of yanks, germans, brits and other assorted infantry.

For all those planning the cheese-spread by using 15mm models, remember the official ruling is an antenna is enough for LOS to fire at your vehicle. :roll:

BTW, I never agreed with or play by that ruling except in as far as indirect fire weapons usage goes. If I see a vehicle antenna and have mortars or grenades... 8)

15mm is small.
1/72 is officially 20mm-25mm
28mm is 28mm but with some heroic scaling this can go as far as 33mm.
Since all the scale sculpts are proportional there would a big difference between a 25mm and 28mm depending on the brandmaker.

15mm is generally equated with 1/100 (although my 15mm Vietnam figures shar etheir table with a pile of Roco 1/87 stuff and they look OK)

You look at it and you know: 20mm is your way to go. I asked the owners of these pictures if I may use them as examples and they agreed. They come from different people and message boards but have the same topic.
