WAVE 1 SST Previews up in S&P

The cards are readable at 100%, and guess they were ok for a demo in pdf magazine. As for contents:

1. Trait-styled descriptions were much easier to comprehend, but guess we'll get used to long descriptions.
2. Did I read it correctly and LAMIs are losing their fangs? No more LAMI snipers??

Looks excellent <thumbs-up> Am tempted to make my new grizzlies this way now... Thanks for another project :D

Seems I did read it correctly... Why no more LAMI snipers? ^^"

Pee Wee isn't that powerfull anymore.
You need 3 x 9 on a D10 to kill a Tanker?

Tankers still look yough to me.
It should only take one nuke to obliterate it.

For the rest I have no gripe at the moment.
Let's see how it EVOLVES

It's "UP TO".
In average it does 3,5xD10 and that isn't really good.

There is actually no average when rolling 1D6.

maybe il drop buying any more FOW to make room.

I'm in the same boat, Evil. Playing FoW Soviets is an addiction, none of us need any more of them but we want them. After an 8 hour build-a-thon I'm finally down to 4 blisters waiting to be assembled.

The thing I find most interesting about the Grizzly's jump ability is that they can no longer jump into or out of cover. That was always the problem I had with them, MI vs MI was just a contest of who could keep their units in the middle of a forest or building out of LOS, jump out and kill the most before hiding again. At least now they'll have to hide behind something, opening the possibility of flanking.

We're talking about what, again? the Back and to the left?

On the off chance that it is, here's the "unofficial official" card..

well will prob be joining in SST with the 4th, depending on prices of course :)

I'd say they'll be pretty expensive...

I'd bet on 25-30 dollars for the Fenir and maybe 7-10 dollars per Fenos. I don't forsee any Forth model being under 5 dollars unless Matt feels very generous :)

Re: the new Grizzly card - does this mean that both Sixguns must be replaced? I've only done one per model (I know, it's a disadvantage) for a match the book, max-nuke, probably game losing Exosuit army.

Cheers

No doubt. From what I'm reading you replace both sixguns with only one firestorm. A bit of a firepower nerf I guess. My Exo's are so nicley painted. It will be sad to start riping off weapons...

On a positive note at Jumping has been fixed. By removing any reference to the height of the trooper in the rule it no longer invalidates the cover of the target. That is a much needed improvement.

Edit: On second reading it seems like a minor grammer problem They might want to say they can replace either one or both of their six guns. Or maybe not!

So lets seee, my exos are even more expensive than before.
They don't get drop capsules or traits in this basic ruleset.
The Sixgun can't fire on air units anymore.
The Firestorm lost its multihit ability.
Aaaaand I lost 3 inches of jump.

Well okay I get the equivalent of a Landwarrior gear, but 12" command range is stupid anyway imho, as it makes it impossible to shoot a firezone with the whole unit or use cover, aaaaaand so I effectively lost a LOT of effectiveness while getting more expensive.

what...the...?
