Vree miniature sizes

Can anyone tell me what the diameter of the various full scale Vree ships are? (ie the Vaarl, Xill)? We use FA scale and I am looking at possibly using some of the full scale ships as some of the larger Vree saucers.

Thanks!

I want to say they start at 1inch (ish) for the patrol boats, then 2in(ish) for the Vaarl, about 3in for the Xill and then the Takk im not sure-don't have that one...I'm winging it btw.

It would be next Tuesday before I could post accurate dimensions of all of the Vree ships (& I am sure someone else will be back before then), in the meantime came across some pics in the Gallery by Protoman-swe showing his fleet. and some closeups of the bigger ships all of which are mounted on the standard Mongoose large size base so you should be able to work out rough sizes;

5th post down.

Sure there are also other pics in the gallery which could be of use to you.

Agree with basaint that the patrol boat is around an inch, if you take into account the engines however I reckon the diamete of the saucer section itself is probably closer to 3/4 of an inch.

To be honest I can't tell the Vree ships apart anyway

As long as the higher PL ships are bigger than the lower PL ones, it's all good!

I only have the Xorr and Xill, but I've measured those.
Xorr: 40mm (1.57") diameter
Xill: 65mm (2.56") diameter

@Burger: the Xorr is the one with visible guns, the Z'Takk is the one which looks like an original series Cylon Base Star, and the Xarr is the one which looks like an oversized fighter. ;)

Ah you can tell me that 10 times a day, but all those X's and L's and R's make me forget which is which after about 10 minutes

we had a bloke down with us who got some GW flying bases plugged the gaps glued 2 together and stuck them on a base. He Sprayed them silver and painted little lines different colours to tell the saucers apart.

They didn't look great admitadley cause all the lines were wobbly but theres some insparation. So theres a start.

I can see two problems with that idea right away. One is that it makes the game unfair because both sides want the Vree to lose, the other is that it makes a rematch difficult. :)

Besides, if you have trouble telling a Xorr from a Xarr now when one has guns and the other has engines, you'll have even more trouble when the only difference is that one is green and the other is blue. And that's assuming the player doesn't decide to sneakily upgrade his ship by flipping it over while you're not looking. ;)

Mind you, about 1/4 of the official Vree fleet is the Xorr and its variants, which means (a) the same sneaky player could switch ships around without having to flip anything, and (b) you can help yourself to a free Vree fleet by making a few of these.

I agree with Burger. Use the Flying Saucer sweets as counters and eat them when they get destroyed, maybe use Smarties as the fighters :D
