vorlon carrier?

Well, this was something we discussed this time around. If the Vorlons do not get carriers (which I am leaning towards at the moment), then some mechanic for granting flights for bigger ships seems an interesting way forward.

I don't think this is about making the Vorlons harder at all. I think this is about giving the list a bit more variety so that it's not always the same ships turning up. If carriers and scouts are out, what about other ships, something to give them some variety?

From what I've been told, e2 playtesters did examine the scout question in depth and I'm sure the same was done for the carrier. Is there any chance that someone can pin Mathew down long enough to get a detailed reason why neither made it into the list?

It is pretty much as you say - I would rather have ships other than a specific carrier or scout for the Vorlons. There will be more ships for both the Vorlons and Shadows coming, just not this time round. . .

Look foward to the new ships - hopefully they are not just scenario specific - although the Planet killer would make sense for this. An expanded experience table would also be nice - makes them more interesting in campaigns. Agree with nightmares - not about making them more hard just more variety....its the spice of life - well actually thats more the Shadows view I suppose. :) thanks

the idea that vorlon ships were always accompanied into battle by fighters was floated as a number of flights escorting the bigger ships as thats how they always appeared in show.
this would be my favourite way of doing it rather than a dedicated carrier.

The Fleet Carrier rule would also nicely represent the whole growing more replacements (for both Vorlons and Shadows) etc. One fighter per level of ship would be interesting as well but as they are much harder now may be balencing issues?
Can I ask why against Carriers - the whole mothership / carrier idea seems to fit in with organic ships?
thanks

possibly as you never see vorlons launch ships in the show? the fighters are always outside.

Do we see the Centauri actually launch fighters or the Narn ? I know we see Shadows (sort of) EA, Raiders and Minbari do it - but the others?

Probably wrong but dont recall them doing it - similar with rest of League - well don't see hardly any of theri shiops full stop :)
