Victory-class Advanced Destroyer

do you work for somewhere like beechwood? they're advertising online for a weapons engineer (says something about a FRES which sounds like something from battlefield evo.) there seems to be quite a few companies like that in bristol, wonder what makes bristol so special?

The way the WS was described would seem to indicate that the AG on Minbari ships is derived from the drive, not a seperate system in itself.

I dunno, when Delenn and Lennier are drifting through hyperspace, the drive is dead but the AG is still working.

I'd say a related technology rather than the same bit of kit as the drive engine.

Well when he was first shown the WS Sheridan asks about the gravity, and Delenn mentions iot being related to the drive system, can't remember the exact line so it could be how you put it there. However I would use the lack of presence of gravity with a disabled drive as evidence, more likely just because filming a zero gravity sequence would have been to expensive...

Well I believe Delenn implies that its all based on the same priciples but not that theyre the same system (just that they work in the same way).

As for cost, were not talking about manufacturing process here were simply process and how much it actually costs to PRODUCE the pulse cannons vs the molecular pulsars LD, Im talking about how much they would actually be SOLD for. EA stuff at least, is produced by a corporation and the minbari worker cast might also choose to sell at a premium (the ISA is NOT a Minbari organisation just because theyre members, as an example the UN still has to buy its equipment as far as I know, its member states dont just give it guns and vehincles for free ;)).

At the market end its a simple enough observation that generally speaking better = more expensive. Lower quality products have their prices lower otherwise peopel wont buy them!

Besides using Star Trek as a comparison anyway is a VERY flimsy argument in my eyes as economics in Star Trek really dont have much in common with current versions (wheras B5 takes a much more 'realistic' view of the future)

Speaking as someone with experience of real life demonstrations of weapon systems,
LBH

what have you seen demonstrated?

A few things made by my company of which I am not at liberty to speak.

LBH

Do they actually tell the receptionist what they are making ;-)

how many project X files are there? who/what is the DPA? sound important though. I reckon your secretly trying to develop a lightning cannon aren't you? 8)

defense procurement agency. i thinks its the new DLO, isnt it LBH

Yeah, I heard from a mate today they've changed their name.

Whatever they're called, they're the ones who buy all the kit for the UK armed forces and they have their main office about 1 mile from where I work, and 3 miles-ish from where I live.
