Using Civilians as Psi Corps

Up until now, I've been planning on painting up my civilian freighters as civilians, but still use them as fighter carriers as needed (on the basis that the whole point is that they're meant to be disguised as civilians anyway, just like the Raider's modified freighter). I have however been avoiding the idea of converting my liner up as a second mothership on the basis that I just don't think it looks right (mainly due to the different bridge).
It's just struck me though, how would the Psi Corps loyalists deal with their motherships in the Crusade Era? If they were to build up more fleet in secret, they would have a harder time trying to hide it if they continued making them look quite so different, so my guess would be that for newer unofficial motherships, they'd remove the antenna and paint them up them up in civilian colours.

So, with this reasoning in mind, would anyone here object to my using unconverted liners as motherships in such a way?

I think you should better ask this question to your usual battlegroup.
If they agree, you shouldn't care of the opinion of the members of this forum.
If they don't then you can just buy some minis from Mongoose as long as they have to sell...

Otherwise, just play Raiders and it should solve your dilemna.

that is exactly what i am planning (once i get my figs!)... i may make it black and white but it won't obviously be psi-corp...

however i think i will be giving mine a bit of extra antennas... and possibly a more prominent inocent looking 'shuttle bay'...


so no i wouldn't have any problems wih it... especially with figs comming out of production anybody giving you trouble for proxies is not being too reasonable.

proxying will become more common - I would not have a problem but as stated it reeally depends on who you are playing

Unfortunately, I don't really have a gaming group available atm. I'm hopefully moving to Guildford soon, at which point I'd be able to join in with the Aldershot people, so if any of you have any input it would be especially appreciated!

I suppose at the end of the day though, I can threaten anyone who says no with counters

I think most of us wouldn't have any problems with using freighter as a fighter carrier or liner as a motheship or any other proxy that "looks the part". In fact as long as it is totally clear what is what, no problems using any proxies with me. I'd only have a problem if you brought 5 Sharlins and said "this one is a fighter carrier, this one is a motheship, this one is a hunter..."
