Urban camo.

I'm going to start painting my Pathfinders for Starship Troopers, and I want to do something a little different to the Green/Brown/Black camo. I've always been a fan of the Urban Camo look and was wondering if anyone can give any useful hints and tips.

do you wish for fashion urban or true urban.

fashion is small design, effective is large russian amobia camo.

the idea is to break up the out line the best way is large shapes over small shapes.

google camo and look at pics is a good start id say personaly

Well, I STILL haven't painted the rest of the squad, or even updated this pic to show the final product, but it's an idea.

Well, here's my cammo that I did. It's woodlands, but the same technique could be used for grey/black/blue/white for urban.

From the research that I could find on painting cammo, I started with the medium color, then go back in and make the patterns, in this case a semi-tiger stripe with a darker color and then the same with a lighter color. When it was done I did a wash with burnt umber in magic wash, twice.

The problem with doing a cammo is that if you do it perfectly, there is no definition in the piece and makes it difficult to tell what's what. So use it sparingly.

Think I'm going to give them a spray of Ogre Flesh from the 'EE' and then drybrush this with a lighter grey, and then add angular black and white patches to help build up the Camo effect.

Not an SST model (part of my GOMC-1 gang), but I'm using the pattern from his trousers on some pathfinders, realistic urban camo is wasted on models as the patches are too small, so this is pretty stylised.
