Universe of B5 Correction News

Hi guys,

We have spent the morning here at Mongoose HQ in tight discussion with editors and writers regarding the issues that have surfaced with the Universe of Babylon 5.

First, our deepest apologies for the few errors that crept in - we have now locked down exactly what happened, and have already instituted new procedures that will ensure this does not happen again. The creation of the B5 book was a little unusual, and these issues will not affect any other similar titles, such as the forthcoming Judge Dredd/Traveller book. Indeed, we'll be previewing this game far in advance of release, giving you the chance to review.

With respect to Universe of Babylon 5, we will be posting an update for it on our web site early next week. However, to make up for the probelms, we will be adding some free content - subsector and sector maps will be enhanced for printing at home, there will be a never-before-published scenario included to kick you off in the Babylon 5 universe straight away, plus some new additions gleaned from Lawrence's notes.

If this book is reprinted, we will include these corrections (though not the bonus material - that will remain free to download) and we will, as always, freely swap out copies for anyone who asks, at our expense.

Once again, apologies for this. It was an unusual set of circumstances that led to these problems, and we have resolved to correct them as quickly as possible.

Thanks for the feed back Matt. I believe that you are doing the right thing in keeping your loyal customers happy. I don't think any one could ask for anything more.

I will personally miss the B5 products when they are gone.

TT.

Just to echo what Matthew's said, I'm personally peeved with myself that these errors crept-in or were overlooked at the editing stage, but I'm working right now on correcting the faults and apologise to all for what's happened.

So any idea on the likelihood/timeascale of a reprint, for instance, is it worth waiting until the ACTA tourney to pick up a corrected copy?

We printed what we believed would last us until the sunset of the licence - if we are right, there won't be a reprint. If we are wrong (and our guesses tend to be very conservative), there will be.

So it's a case of probably best picking one up as and when and waiting to see if a reprint happens.

Not ideal, but it could be worse.

As long as the stuff gets fixed, I can live with that.

We B5 fans are just as fanatic as the OTU fans can be in our own way.

I look forward to the download/fixes!

Matt - nice to hear that the problems have been recognised and fixed (sort of 8) ).

Will this book be released as a PDF? And will the PDF have the corrections??

The material is all prepared, but Charlotte has been very ill these past couple of days. Hopefully she will be better tomorrow.
