How about publishing a «clean» stat card backgrounds, for all the mods people are doing?

MGP has already done it. Start the Acrobat Reader, open any card file (even the 1st wave S&P cards will do), click on the card (any place without text, image or the side logo will do), the card will highlight in blue, Ctrl-C, Ctrl-V in any graphics program and voila - intstant <<clean>> stat card. Repeat for the card reverse...
