As there is a FOW event on the Sunday only at UK Games Expo, is anyone doing or thinking of trying to do something for VaS at Games Expo (Birmingham). It is on 2nd/3rd June and the link is

Its within striking distance of me, but I'll be at the NWS event on HMS Belfast that weekend (possibly running a VAS game or two)

Just had a good look at the site and all exhibitors and demos are now full so basically wysiwyg and VAS isn't listed as a game. So I think may go to HMS Belfast and spoil one of DM's demo games.

Dave just look on the Hms Belfast site and your event isn't listed there then I checked the NWGS and it isn't listed there either do you have any more info as my wargames club are interested in a day out and this is an ideal opportunity for them.

I heard today that the FOW tournament has been stretched from 1 day to 2.

I'd take part in a tournament, but I'm not organising one myself (been there and done that before, and playing is fun, but listening to players bitch is not).

Here's the news I've received on the Belfast event. Its supporting their other events around that time rather than a fully fledged naval wargaming event (although the NWS AGM is being held after hours)

The Naval Wargames Society will be staging a wargame based on the events of 9 July 1940. In the afternoon of that day in history, while covering convoy movements in the Western Mediterranean, forty Italian Savoia S.M.79 bombers attacked Force H (Ark Royal and Hood ) dropping over 100 bombs. We will aim to re-create that attack in miniature. This is a visitor participation game that's free to anyone who wishes to have a go. The game will be in 1/600th scale, and participants will take command either of a squadron of Italian bombers whose aim it is to sink both Hood and Ark Royal, or a squadron of Ark Royal's fighters whose task it is to intercept and shoot down the Italians before that happens. The game will run continuously throughout the day on both Saturday 2nd June and Sunday 3rd June, though a single go at commanding a squadron should take about 30 minutes.

We are happy to run a VAS tournament and have a potential umpire - either 1 day or a 2 with a preference to the sunday 3rd June. I will start a thread on this and see what the interest is.

Mongoose Publishing are attending and will support this tournament.

Just to point out that FOW is the Flames of War UK Open championship and is on sunday 3rd June with a top prize of a army pack deal from Battlefront.
