Type S wargames model?

I'm sure I have seen a Type S that was built in some scale (15, 25 or 28mm) for minis gaming, but I can't find it! I think it was for a convention.

Anyone help with a link?

My search skills (and archive skills) have failed in this instance... I'm betting it's obvious where the site is ;)

I recall a merchant version of the Type S hull done like that. He called it a Type J iirc. Off for a quick look through my bookmarks...

...stay tuned.

Hmm, no luck on finding the one I was looking for, but I might have found the one you were thinking of :)

All I have is a link to the images. Not how I came across them originally or any contact or context info. The images are on this page (scroll down to "scout... " )

...though now that "convention" idea is ringing a bell too. A different one entirely. Was it just the deckplan layout?

Those images might be it - I'm not sure.

I'm sure I've seen images of it with minis in it (or a model like it) in game use... Of course that might be selective or inventive memory. A blog or something.

Thanks for the link anyway - its useful whatever.

Since it's mine, I'll save you a bit of trouble. :)

With the top removed so 15mm miniatures can go aboard:

This is SO COOL! How have you built this? :D

Over a very long period of time. Mind you, it would have been quicker if I'd concentrated on it rather than doing a bit on it every so often. :)

Most of the basic structure is plastic card. The rails which hold the top on are I-beams bought from a model shop. The engines were donated from someone else's X-wing. The bridge displays were from a diorama about the Battle of Hoth which I bought but never fully built. And the small thrusters are plastic airgun pellets. What you can't see are the landing gear struts which came from a model aircraft. Nor can you see the scratch-built retractable fuel scoops on the underside. :)

Is this the one?

(the original site is dead).

I think it is the first one posted, as the one I very dimly recall seeing a pic of had an interior.

The more the merrier though!

Love it! How much time did it take to assemble? And are you going to do drop in trays for the upper deck crawl-ways or lower cargo area?

Hey captrooper, I think the one you're looking for has been found!

User Patron Zero over on CotI posted a link to a Type S model by the BITS crew used at the 2008 Dragonmeet con:

And user navanod on CotI tracked down a similar model by the same of the Subsidized Liner from the 2009 Dragonmeet con:
