My pre-post-non-vargr-quadroped.... ahem.... "dog" named Jack can close doors and roll over on command. He hasn't quite got the hang of... "Get me a beer!" yet. That's what girlfriends are for! :lol:

Yeah, it's a bizarre mis-match of a personal scale "weapon" and a turret weapon. Clearly any 7d6 dam from that laser drill should be divided by 50 if used against a ship. Sugges the optimum range of "short" is on the personal weapon scale, not the starship. Just a minor bit of author confusion, not so hard to solve.
