Turning Template

Hi There,

No doubt you are aware that there is a turning template already in the download section of this website. Also, you may wish to alter the segments as I believe the first turning segment is larger than the remaining.

Kind Regards

Digger.

I'd seen the one in the downloads but it's a copy of the one that is fine for turning to starboard but not so good for port. There is that larger template below that I could have used and had the little compass been in the right place for both arcs I might have done.

That aside I also found having the slide the template under the ship a bit fiddly. True enough I could have jut cut up the templates but that seemed a bit scrappy.....

As for the segments sizes the print out I've got has them all working out at 20 degrees. I wonder if maybe different printer options are distorting the document somehow, I'll have a look into it.

Just copy the template onto some acetate an it works great for either direction. That is what I did and it works just fine.

I don't have any acetate but I do have access to a laminator so a print out seemed to be the way to go.

I'd love to have a set of professional looking templates on clear acetate though would be great.

As an aside I'm actually getting a bit concerned about something. Is the first turn meant to be bigger than the rest? I've been thinking that the existing template works for starboard turns, each turn being 20 degrees. Is it meant to be the other way around though with that first turn being about 30 and the rest being 20?

Rigth... the new one available for download has the first turn in either direction as slightly bigger than the rest. That is how it is meant to be.

Also... who honestly puts the templat under the base of their ship... just hold the template over the ship and move the model...

Even if you only have the one sided template you can stioll use it top turn in either direction. You just have to possition it differently.

I copied mine onto clear acetate and then laminated it. I look through it to move the ship! So much easier than what came with the Game.

Go to your local FLGS or handy, dandy card collecting store and buy a pack of top loaders. They are only about $3-4 a pack for 20. They will be hard and clear. Lay one over your turn key and trace the turn key on the top loader with a permanent marker. It may not look as great as one printed on acetate, but it will be just as functional.
