Traveller's Ref Screen?

Mongoose
What exactly is on this screen, and what got left off?

In particular, does it have all the tables you'd need in the course of running an average game? That is, no "creation" tables (character, world, etc.), but ALL of the combat, both ground and space, as well as sensor ranges, weapons/armor specs, spaceship weapons specs, etc.?

I can fully understand why MG doesn't have a preview of the screen up, but it might be nice to know what stuff I'd have to provide on additional sheets, and what stuff would be on the screen. I just have a bad feeling that the screen is not very information-dense...

Thanks rust!

That was quite good until he got cut off in the middle of the ship section. Sigh.

Still, it gives me a pretty good idea what to expect.

To pick up where the video was cut off...

Panel 3 displays combat details of bay weapons in one table and turret weapons in another table. Below these two tables is a large table detailing the levels of radiation, the effects of radiation, and the anti-radiation protective values of personal/ship armor.

Panel 4 (right-most panel of the screen) contains two large tables dealing with sensor ranges and levels of detail by sensor type/range. Below those are tables detailing effects of crew damage rolls and ship damage rolls, definitions of ship combat ranges, and details on personal weapon range modifiers.

What isn't included (at least on my screen) is any errata published for the Core Book or any publications after that (like High Guard).

I used a red pen to modify the screen contents with all the errata that would fit and included the book name and page numbers in the various books where the tables (and errata) can be found. With my changes, I've found the screen to be extremely handy.

Now if you like making your own screen (which I do), Hammerdog Games sells what they call "The World's Greatest Screen" which is a 4 panel screen with 8 clear plastic pockets for slipping in your own reference notes and tables. It's pricey though; Mongoose's screen is about half the price of Hammerdog's and really only needed minor errata-related changes. In my opinion, Mongoose did a good job in laying out the various tables and I'm hoping they will correct their screen with the pertinent errata, if they haven't already.

So are you guys talking about an old screen, or a new one to be released?
The one Mongoose published not long ago:

There were also some screens done up and posted to the MGT-Aids list, which is actually what got the list started.

Or....stick a folder up in front of you and read your rulebook. Cost = 0.
I started playing Traveller with the Mongoose version, before the MgT referee screen was available. So I selected the tables I most needed, photocopied them and pasted them onto the blank pages in the front and back of the Core Rule Book. When I finally got my hands on a screen, I was so used to not having a screen that I duplex photocopied the referee screen and used them instead.

I know; I was looking at those trying to decide which parts of which to use when it occurred to me that maybe Mongoose's screen might already have what I need, already laid out. (I no longer have access to a printer that's happy printing on cardstock.)

Hey whatever works for you. I made one of the screens up on the group and yet I bought the MGT official screen too.
