Travellers Needed! Central Supply Catalogue Updates

The entire section on computers and software needs to be torn down, stomped on, and rewritten from scratch. We need clear unambiguous rules and lots of examples. As it is, it's mostly gibberish.

I can kind of figure out where they were trying to go with the rules but there are so many things that need judgement calls or house rules. I feel that computers and expert programs could have a much bigger influence on the game and the PC's.

Misc Tool Sets
While there's a good range of tool kits in the book, there's a few places where it falls short. There is no Art tool set, for example, nor Bomb Disposal sets for those who rolled 3 levels of Explosives.. Maybe it would be good to have a generic tool set option that could be used to represent anything not otherwise represented in the book?

Fabricator Ship Component
Every group I have ever given the book to has immediately asked me how to turn a fabricator into a ship component so they could set one up in their cargo bay. It would be nice to have rules regarding this either here or in High Guard.

Now add Robot slots to the mix and you break it.

The other issue is you are mixing volume and mass

the dton is a volume - known to be 14m3

is a space 1/4 of that volume?

what is the volume of a slot...
A liter can hold 1.5 slots, so a slot is .6667 liters. It is probably still not to scale, but it has a volume.

That depends on if one be in the UK or the US.
I doubt they are going to use commas. It would be satisfactory if they used KCr (sorry @Sigtrygg), MCr, BCr, and TCr, and decisions to the first three places if needed. MCr is in use and BCr has been used in one book already, I believe, so it’s not a stretch to use the others.

Robots defines the number of slots in a displacement ton.

256 slots per displacement ton

14000/256 = 54 literes per slot...

The scaling needs fixing.
Agreed that the scaling is wonky but it isn’t going to change.

A size 8 robot takes up a displacement ton. Two if it has manipulators. It only supports 128 slots internally. That makes it comparing apples to oranges. It is 256 in total, but we also know that a size 8 robot is 4 vehicle spaces and one displacement ton. It is what it is.

A fabricator is a better comparison of internal spaces. It has so many chamber liters and for a closed unit is double the displacement that it can fabricate. Each internal liter is .6667 slots capacity.
