Traveller Release Schedule 2026

We did pay for the HG2022 update, and the core rulebook 2022 update and 2024 new cover, and we paid for the CSC update. All of them had to be bought again even if you had the previous version.

I don’t know why we would have to pay for the Vehicle Handbook update 2026 when we didn’t have to pay for High Guard update 2022, Core Rulebook update 2022 and Central Supply Catalog update 2023. They are all listed as updates it’s not listed as revised or a new edition so why they would change their rules now. If I remember right when they started working on it they promised use that had the previous version would not have to rebuy the PDF.
As Sigtrygg said, we did have to buy all of those updates. They are separate items in the DriveThruRPG catalog.

The singular exception, as far as I am aware, was the recent update to The Great Rift box set, as the text in the two versions is exactly the same, the books having simply had a facelift.

And considering how different the new VHB is from the old one...

I think the Core 24 new cover was a free update.

Exactly what I was talking about. I’m pretty sure Sigtrygg purposely misunderstood this so he could say that I was wrong. The PDFs were updated automatically! yes of course you have to buy the book if you want a physical copy just like you have to if your replacing a damaged or stolen book. No one once suggested that you would get a physical copy for free
None of the items you originally listed were free updates (I refer everyone to my original statement about how to make money, at the top of the page).

You got the pdf update - if you wanted the books you had to pay.
Well... kinda cannot work any other way :)

We do, however, try to make sure that the previous book remains useful, so these are not 'essential' purchases.

Also, the Companion Update had the free PDF update too.

Well, anyone talking about free updates isn’t talking about the printed book, and I believe that is what is being talked about.
Where is that stated? Your belief is not my belief. 🐙 🫥

Matt was talking about the printed book cost and your post that followed it did not change the topic to free pdf, the subject remains physical book.

The updated/revised/new cover books all required a new purchase.

I bought the 2016 book, I didn't get the 2022 pdf free, I had to buy the 2022 book to get the 2022 pdf. The new cover version I got the pdf update, but I had to buy the book, they didn't send me a free update hard back. Similarly for the other update books, they all had to be bought again regardless if you had the 2016ish iteration.

No one else thought we were discussing printed books, so the meaning was clear enough.

You must be reading a different thread to me, we have been discussing the physical books.
And yet you still missed the change to asking about the pdf even though no one else did. Sometimes you have to pay attention to the context. The change to asking about the pdf was clear enough without being stated as anyone should know that Mongoose wouldn't be replacing print books. You missed the turn. Sorry about that, but you were the only one.
