Hi guys,

The first Traveller preview can now be downloaded from the Traveller section of the web site - more to come over the next few days and weeks!

Well, first post on this subject deleted without warning after about 12 minutes. A new record, I'm so proud.

All I said was I thought the design of the pages could do with some work.

It is interesting that it lacks the usual Mongoose illustrated borders. It looks very old-school.

The characteristic section of the character sheet looks good - both characteristic and damage track at the same time. Very useful, if only they'd had that in the original. :)

I like the format of the character generation 'splat' - with all the tables included on a two page spread. That makes it much easier to use, I think.

Generally, I like it. :D

Matt: what font is used for the body text in the preview document? I don't recognise it.

I'm not Matt, but I opened the preview in Illustrator and it identified the main body fonts as Scala Sans and the Chapter and Section Header Fonts as Eras Demi

Thanks for that, Malakor. I was just curious, as the body text seems to be "tall and thin", which I find hard to read.

Even with 6 eyes and IR capabilities ;)

Looks good ! ....

'course now I have to revamp that module I'm trying to write...

Ahh well It's not if the glass is half full or empty, it's who has the last swallow*....

Looks good, I can't wait to see all the other pieces of artwork in the book.
I'm not a fan of the open charts, I prefer charts that are enclosed with borders...the character sheet is interesting and will be neat to use, easy for damage tracking for sure, other than that...I can't wait to see it!

So far it looks very promising. I also like the abundance of artwork (especially in comparison to CT) - visual people such as my girlfriend 'get into' the game/setting by looking at its artwork.

I hope that the gear section would be well-illustrated as well; gear pictures help visualizing the world and the characters.

In step 6c, am I still to go to step 5 if I fail my survival roll?

It should be step 9 I would think, assuming that it still counts as 4 years if you have a mishap. Otherwise, it would be step 10.

Looks good otherwise! I like the compressed charts.
