Banded Mongoose
Hi Mongoose!

Has the Traveller Companion been pushed back again? I could have sworn that it was announced with an August release date, and now it isn't even on the roadmap. Since this is one of the books that is regularly referenced in the Core book, isn't it time to maybe put this one back on track?

A Grumpy Customer.

Thanks for the response. :D

Just frustrated at all of these ancillary projects that keep pushing back a Core product. I'm sure they're really neat.

It's a book mostly full of rules. Even if we wait for a bit more, I would prefer it polished rather than having flaws cause by hurrying up.

Mongoose published a pretty ambitious "State of the Mongoose" last January. It doesn't look like most of that's going to see the light of day this year unless they clone Martin.

What happened to guys like Gareth Hanrahan? Did they retire from Traveller? Is Martin the only one "keeping the flame"?

Gareth swings by now and again (he was very instrumental in the recent Acute Paranoia campaign), but these days he is spending more time writing novels and computer games!

Re: Gareth Hanrahan

Throw more money at him! Pirates of Drinax is one of the finest roleplaying campaigns ever published.

The Traveller Companion seems to have an air of mystery about it still. I'm assuming it's sort of the same as the Xanathar's Guide to Everything for D&D, but could anybody spare the time to give a list of things that are likely to be in the contents?

It is basically a toolkit for Traveller, things you can plug and play into your campaign - we'll have a contents list for you soon!
