Traveller Character Pack - In Stock

Just to let forum members know, the Traveller Character Pack won't be on general release until November, but we now have stock in the warehouse, so you are welcome to grab an early copy;

This is a 24 page character sheet that allows you to keep track of absolutely _everything_ related to your character, from homeworld details and equipment, to contacts and vehicles. There is even a last will and testament!

Can we legally photocopy/scan this book so as to make multiple copies for our multiple characters? I suspect not. A pity it's not available as a .pdf (granted you'd then be open to relatively easy pirating of your IP).

I would assume "fair use" would apply? e.g. doing it for yourself would be fine, doing it for your friends would not, and selling copies or publishing derivitative works without permission from the copyright holder would be right out...

A PDF version would be of limited utility, execpt to facilitate photocopying, unless you were able to save the character data seperately somehow? Now embedding the Character Folio in the Traveller Database would be very cool ... and then using PDF as an output format ... that would be very valuable, but, would cut the revenue stream for the folio itself...

Character Pack/Folio/Book (what ever you want to call these nice deluxe character sheets) are the only products I'll buy as PDF. In fact I only buy them that way since it's something your going to have to print multiple copies of over time anyway.

That's why I have a laser printer/copier/scanner/fax machine... all in one and less the hassle!

Some hope for printing:

Will is working this week on the Judge Dredd update to the Traveller Character Pack. The idea here is that whenever we do a new Traveller setting, it will get a page or two of updates for the Character Pack, allowing you to just print the relevant sections off and add them to your book. The Judge Dredd addition, for example, contains sections on informants, new skills, techniques and, of course, the Lawgiver and Lawmaster.

I'm wondering what will the Character Pack bindings be. Will, say running a Judge Dredd campaign be doomed to having bits of paper sticking out of everyone's Character Pack or - will the pack be ring-bound, allowing for all sorts of expansion?
