If Traveller were more tactical-like, the Kinunir wouldn't be able to engage targets to port/starboard with the barbettes because they could not swing to engage, just targets fore/aft. That was something I liked about SFB and Renegade Legion, moving the ships around the map to bring your weapon systems to bear made the game more interesting and challenging.

There is not up or down in space. Just angle or spin she ship and all batteries will bear on the target.

True, but in this case the enemy has already set the location (and the comment was specifically about the illustration). You'll see the starboard cannons firing, but the side barbette turrets are not able to be brought to bear, or at least they would not normally be able unless they have the capability of having 90 degree elevation. If that's the case then they can be brought to bear.

It's a snapshot of a battle scene. Don't overanalyze it.

But it inspires me to include the ship in an adventure!

My comment that started this discussion was no criticism of the illustration. It’s great art. In my head as I wrote it, the ship’s captain was yelling this at the gunnery officer. Or maybe the gunnery officer yelling at the gunners.

Definitely not criticizing the illustration.! I like it and it’s one of my favorite Traveller ships (Kinunuir was the first Traveller book i ever bought. When i was a kid... I bought it after seeing it in the bookstore, and saving my paper route money for weeks.)
