Hello friends of Glorantha

ANNOUNCEMENT:

Tradetalk goes PDF!

The headmen of The Chaos Society have decided that it is time for us to open new ways to spread the world about Glorantha, Tradetalk magazine, and The Chaos Society.
We are proud to announce that Tradetalk is now available also in PDF format through http://rpg.drivethrustuff.com/

Our PDF line includes full searchable PDF version of Tradetalk magazine from the recent issue # 16 back to issue # 5.
We are happy to have the long out of print issues # 5 to 8 available for
gloranthan fans worldwide again.

We are working on bringing Tradetalk # 1 to 4 also into PDF, but
unfortunately these issues will be only non-searchable image file PDFs,
because the original layout files are no longer available.


To avoid confusion:

- Tradetalk will keep on going as PRINT magazine!
Tradetalk # 17 to 20 are worked on parallel, as you read this.
We expect Tradetalk # 17 to be available at TENTACLES OMEGA in June, and the issue after that at Essen Game Fair in October.

- We don´t know if other The Chaos Society stuff will become available as
PDF.
The "Ye Booke of Tentacles" series, and the "Pavis & Big Rubble Companion" series might or might not become available. We are still not sure...
The same with the "The Path of the Damned" comic book series, and the two novels.
Please be patient. We will announce IF they become available, WHEN they
become available.

But for now:
Have fun with Tradetalk # 5 to 16 !

It was high time these zines were available in electronic format. There is a lot of useful materials in there.

BTW, Andre, did you get my mail? I have plenty of requests that the Chaos Society could help me sort out.

This might be a really dumb question, but...

this is not 2nd Age, right ? This is more like 3rd age and HeroQuest rather than RuneQuest, right ?

I'd really like to get more information about the Kethaela area (due to Blood of Orlanth), but I suppose the material found in Tradetalk can't be used...

I think Tradetalk 5 which is available as a PDF has an article on second age Kethaela

Tradetalk magazine is dedicated to Glorantha, not a certain age.

But it is true:

From issue # 1 to 5 the supported rules system is RQ (RQ3 aka Avalon Hills RuneQuest).
Issues # 6 to 9 try to provide stats for both, RuneQuest and Hero Wars/HeroQuest.
From issue # 10 onward the magazine has mostly only HQ stats.

And yes, most articles and adventures were written for 3rd Age Glorantha.


BUT:
I am sure that A LOT of the articles, adventures, maps etc. can be of great use for a MRQ game master as well.

Especially all Aldryami related articles by Shannon Appelcline, the two praxian issues, the theme issue about the islands, and the one about Pamaltela, will be true gloranthan gold also for a 2nd Age game master.
The issue about the city of Handra might be interesting as well. Handra was founded in the thrird age, but most of the issue can be stolen and relocated into the 2nd age.

A lot of the third age articles and adventures have a history or backstory, that tells you something about the 2nd age as well.
