Sageryne
Emperor Mongoose
Hi all,
One of my players in my Traveller campaign is playing a pirate and wanted to have a hotrod ship. He asked if he could use the Harrier. I agreed, because the players are starting off in prison, and his ship has been stolen. Recovering it will occupy most of the campaign, so I am not worried about it over-powering things.
Here's the thing, I was not 100% happy with any of the deckplans or specs out there. I liked the original upper deck layout from Mongoose 1e, but I also preferred the barbette/turret location of the 2e ship. I didn't like the placement of the cargo scoop on either of them. I also strongly dislike the isometric view of the 2e.
So, I made my own version. It has 2d deckplans but with some changes and amendments to suit how I think the ship should look. I also tweaked some of the specifications. I thought only having a single turret was a waste. I kept the single missile rack, but made it a triple turret with a pair of pulse lasers for missile/fighter defence. I also noticed a similarity between the Harrier and the Klingon Bird-of-Prey, so I had some fun with a paint scheme inspired by it.
I thought I would share it in case someone else finds it useful.
EDIT: I made a few corrections, one small calculation error and a few typos. I updated the file.
Cheers
