Tourney Time

One thing I noticed about Tourney yesterday, was the general opinions that the games are too rushed. A few players mentioned that they felt rushed, seeing as they had limited time for each game. I am just wondering whether other tourney players, think that 3 games or 4 games would be better?

my games were generally over in about 30mins so waiting around more would be a bad thing so i voted 4 games.

Definitely 4 games. Once you get into the flow of things, the games really speed up. The time limit is a play factor in itself and is one penalty for taking a large fleet.

Other than that, I think four games is better simply because more games are always going to be more fun

Hey, I finished two games

Although the most important one of all was nowhere near finishing - the final game on table 1.

as long as the games are 2 hours long there should be 4 games
if you find that after 2 hours you cant finish then you either brought too many skirmish ships or you talk too much

I voted for 4 games, the first turn is a bit long but as the number as the ships decreases then the turns get faster.

I must have talked too much then as I didn't bring that many Skirmish ships...I did bring a lot of Patrol ships though

it depends on the PL played and the number of ships - players who use ancients or fleets with a few large models will usually play faster than players who bring the swarm fleets that consists of large numbers of ships.
In the KOTJ tourneys I ran We used 3 different PL matches; skirmish usually ran short and finished more quickly than the raid, which played quicker than the battle games, which usually overran the 2+ hours.

Generally, I think 30 minutes + 30 minutes per PL is a decent thumbrule;
Skirmish 1.5 hours, raid, 2 hours, batttle 2.5 hours, war, maybe 3 hours, armageddon...maybe 3.5 hours.

Yeah, I think I lost some gentleman points for that yesterday.

I vote 4 games, even though I usually end up not enjoying my 4th game so much.
