Too obviously Halo?......3rd Imperium?

I want to use these minis for some TL 11-12 Old Earth Union combat armor troops in my Terran Dawn campaign. Do they look too obviously Halo-esque?
No, not in my view, although I would probably give them different colours.

Mine as of yet aren't painted, that is just an example. I'm worried that players will look at them and think Halo instead of what I intend them to be.

What rust said - use the color scheme from your Old Earth Union or at least the logo if you can (print on labels/decal paper if too difficult and glue/clear paint them on)...

If someone's only exposure to SF is Halo, they'd probably say that. But Even someone that mildly watches/reads/plays SF could tell you that they're pretty typical SF designs. They look closer to space suit in Firefly than Halo. They're not to far away from the space suits worn by Picard and Worf in ST: First Contact (not in color scheme but in basic design).

To me they remind me of U.N.E. Troopers in Commando armor from Legions of Steel.

So I would agree with dmccoy1693, that they will look like what ever the players are familar with.

You can use that to your advantage. Surprise them :)

And color schemes can do a lot to make others think of different armies or subjects.

Funny thing is, when I looked at the Art of Halo, much of the human stuff reminded me of designs by Ron Cobb and Syd Mead. In the book, the Halo designers wanted a look for the humans that was reminiscant of the movie Aliens, whose designs were done by Ron Cobb and Syd Mead.

Nothing really exists in a vacuum, creatively or otherwise.

Thanks for the replies folks. I'll stick with these being my Old Earth Union troops equipped in combat armor. Whatever painting scheme I use I will try to stay away from Halo green. :)

The first ones, the Stargrunt Israelis, I was planning on using for Solomani for some Solomani Rim War work, and the others, the UN forces from Stargrunt, I was using for Imperial Battledress even before Mongoose was making Traveller. I like the 15mm scale, though...

For my Terran Dawn campaign I'm going with Stargrunt minis for peeps and Old Crow resin for vehicles. One of the reasons I picked these lines is that you can purchase the exact same minis/models in 15mm or true 25mm.

My Take: The body looks like a Imperial Stormtrooper with mismatched sizes throughout. And the helmet looks like a giant space hamster's head.
