Too Much Time On My Hands...Metallica-->Giak

Ordovician

Mongoose
Too much time on my hands...

Metallica: For Whom the Bell Tolls
Make his fight on the hills in the early day
Constant chill deep inside
Shouting gun, on they run through the endless grey
On they fight, for they are right, yes, but who's to say?
For a hill, men would kill, why? They do not know
Suffered wounds test their pride
Men of five, still alive through the raging glow
Gone insane from the pain that they surely know

For whom the bell tolls
Time marches on
For whom the bell tolls

Take a look to the sky just before you die
It is the last time you will
Blackened roar massive roar fills the crumbling sky
Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry
Stranger now, are his eyes, to this mystery
He hears the silence so loud
Crack of dawn, all is gone except the will to be
Now they see, what will be, blinded eyes to see

For whom the bell tolls
Time marches on
For whom the bell tolls

Now...I spent an hour or so making this. ;)

Metallica: For Whom the Bell Tolls, Giak lyrics

...

Won't even attempt to mentally repeat that act of translation ...

...

Want a sound file of that. Hop to it, young man! :D

Paido, bowing to Ordovicians skill with the Giak tongue

That is SOOO awesome.

I would like a sound file of it too, if someone actually feels like making one.

See, I would attempt to one-up him right now, only thing is I think his English/Giak dictionary is better than mine. All I have to go by is what is in the Magnamund Compainion, and half the words in "For Whom the Bell Tolls" (hell, even just in the title) I couldn't find in my book...

The logical question would be: is there a source of Giak translations other than in the MC?

Wow. 8)

I remember when I was a kid, my brother and I would try and speak Giak so that our parents didn't understand. We never quite got the hang of it. :?

So what's next? Macbeth in the original Giak?

As I thought ... :D There are additions to the Giak dictionary in the Lone Wolf Club Newsletters. Not sure whether the following are the only ones (as the Project Aon editions are sadly not complete - they are still looking for people who have access to the missing pages, BTW! *poke to all*), but here you go:

  • Newsletter #7, p.9

    Newsletter #23, p.8
Apart from that, here are two websites where you can find the results of very industrious fan work:
