Time to rewrite some stats...

All she managed to get out before Spock interrupted was: 'May I quote general order 12, 'On the approach of any vessel, when communications have not been established...' it was implicit that shields should be raised, but Kirk chose to keep his britches down :)

I guess in ACTA the analogous action would be to close all blast doors and activate defense grid...

Im pretty sure the reg is expanded on shortly later....

Will have to rewatch WoK. Actually will have to do that anyway as its a great film :P

(ps. I did have that in mind when I wrote the little transcript above and almost put in some bits for Londons Nephew on board the Dargan with some lines along the lines of 'let them eat static' ;))

(pps. for those who dont know/can't remember Londo's nephew is Kahn Mollari (or Karn Mollari, not sure which its supposed to be but the joke still works in either case ;))

WoK is undoubtedly one of the better films ever, IMO. For all that KHAAAAAN!, probably Shatner's best and most nuanced performance throughout the series.

Went back and edit my transcript after all, hehehe :P

For me WoK is the second best Star Trek Movie, just behind The Undiscovered Counry. And the KHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAN bit is the best part (if only for the numerous parodies... (William Shatner's 'Fiddler on the Roof' in Family Guy nearly gave me seizure from laughing too much  (if you havent seen it you really must ;))

First Contact come in just behind that. In the Beginning ranks about equally with it in my oppinion and the other B5Movies arent even close. (that said, with the exception of Star Trek IV which was quite fun neither are the rest of the Trek films)

I can just picture it...

Yeah, that sounds very um sensible...yeah....so this Babylon 5 Wars game went the way of the dodo right?
You didn't have to make it look like an enemy ship...it could look like any ship and the deception was only revealed if a unit got close enough, it fired a weapon the faux ship didn't have, or it maneuvered in a way the faux ship couldn't. The Dargan was one evil little ship...and I loved it. :)

Scenario 1: 1) Make the Dargan look like a Haven, Amar, or other relatively harmless ship. 2) Maneuver the probably unmolested "Haven" into position and unload.

Scenario 2: Since only the Balvarix and Dargan could field Ruties, disguise a Dargan as a Balvarix and bring some Rutarians to the field. The carriers tended to not get shot at if I still had active front line ships, so this gave a sneak attack to an otherwise innocuous looking carrier.

Scenerio 3: Bring a Dargan and a Balvarix to the field, with the Dargan disguised as something else (only works in the high BPV games). Pre-deploy the Ruties from the Dargan and use them. When your opponent spends the time and effort to kill them, launch the ones from the Balvarix.
