Time spended in jobs

If a player finds a job, would do you let him to train in the same period of time?
I will try to give you an example: The pc has one week free of time. Could he train one skill (period of one week required as per GM rules) and be at work in this time, or does he need one week to work and another one for training?

That depends on the job, what it is they want to train, and how happy I was feeling with the overall rate of improvement in the campaign...

Most jobs, after all, give you a certain amount of "free time" - even after you've factored in eating and sleeping. Some jobs may allow you to spend some of your "work" time training (A night-watchman may be able to spend much of his shift reading , for instance, providing he makes a couple of patrols and is ready to respond if a problem occurs) , other jobs may effectively be training (working as a labourer may qualify as training to improve Strength, Constitution or related skills for instance). Some jobs may actually provide "on the job" training - though this would probably replace some or all of the pay - (for instance working as an assistant to a healer in order to learn First Aid)
