Time for a new Campaign

As much I am sure that I will like the Adventure Seeds of Spinward Encounters - very nice cover BTW - I am longing for a new adventure/campaign. I like what you have done with Prison Planet and less but still like Beltstrike - these are nice OTU adventures. Why not release something like an updated Traveller Adventure.

Hmmm What about updating the "Forgotten War" series.

All based in the 'District , Prequel of just before the "lights go out" of 1107, then some during the Fifth frontier war, and then some post?

As the District is a "minor" or lesser front, its got a lot of things going for it. Pro Impies, Sword Worlders, Anti-Impies, Impies, and allows visits from Long range Zhodani commerce raiders... Along with Spy, Counter-spy, Raiders, Convoy duty, all within a small region.

Take care

We are indeed looking at updating the Traveller Adventure :)

We are also finalising an agreement with Gareth Hanrahan for another free to download mega-campaign which will be starting a little later this year, which will be a little more down to earth than Secrets...

I can retire that big box file with the label "Grandfather's Monologue," then. :)

Good news about another free campaign...much as I like free things...I was wondering if there would be a longer run plan to convert the free campaigns into a full fledged deadtree product that would have great art and possible PCs.

Have the adventures been good sellers? As I said, I liked them (although, Tripwire - I had issues with), maybe if while you are converting/updating The Traveller Adventure --you might want to consider the Lords of Thunder.

Y'know Kafka, recently I've been having that discussion with some folks I know.. the demand for campaigns/settings as products for purchase. I have several ideas I think have the potential to be top sellers (bad writing/art can kill any good idea) but there doesn't seem to be the market for them.

So let me ask, how many folks on the forums would be interested in a very high quality campaing/setting... as in willing to pay a fair price for dead tree or pdf?

The possibility of a printed version of Secret of the Ancients has been mentioned.

Sorry, not me, I prefer to create my own settings.

A well researched (meaning consistent with what has been written to date) with a good vibe. I would be willing to pay $5-7 for an adventure and $15-20 for a Campaign in deadtree - akin to something like the Drow War. Professionally illustrated and good content.

For PDF, that is where my threshold drops $2-$5 for an adventure and $5-$12 in PDF. Essentially, I look at PDF as the backup for the books that I own.

I realize that this reflects poorly upon those who wish to make their living in RPGs but writing a good SFRPG adventure is hard. This is not to say it cannot be done. And, I don't mind clones or klones of existing material so long as it puts an interesting spin on things (eg What is the 2300AD adventure Bayen but 2001 in a fancier dress minus the homocidical computer and set in deep space).

Secrets of the Ancients will indeed be appearing as a hardback later this year!

Cool! Started running SOTA and had to quit for domestic reasons - hoping to move house.

It's probably early days but 1) how much shelf space will it use up and 2) how much do you expect it to cost and 3) is it a straight print of the SOTA PDFs or has something been done to it? Personally I would recommend at least a Glossary and maybe an index.
