Personally, I'd be happy if it sat another month so that the final product will be better.

It will never hit the streets if you constantly "wait another month and improve it" theres got to be the point where you call it ready and release it, this point though. should be after all mistakes and errors are captured

The basic issues, in my reckoning, lies in the general editing and explanations of concepts provided, getting the layout and art of the book looking attractive (not to mention the printing issues they have had over the last year)....and trying to resolve the current shitstorm surrounding the time/effect mechanic of the core-rules, so that everybody is content with it (or at least muted in their diatribes).

If they can do all that, it'll be ready.

I concur. Working on it.

This... I don't think this can ever be resolved to everyone's satisfaction. We're doing our best, but whatever the final product is there will be a group of people who hate it. I'd like to make that group as small as possible, but I think eliminating it is probably beyond the realms of possibility.

Oh, you don't have to convince me. For me, the former issue (that you concur with) is much more important now.

However, if there is a simple solution to making the effect roll 'mathematically correct' then it would save a lot of hassles later from antagonistic parties. In my view the simplest method would be either removing any DMs from the effect roll, or simply having an open effect roll (where there is no cap value at 6). The damage tables of combat may have to be adjusted to reflect this.

Like I say, it's not a big issue for me - I've got a decent campaign set up already - but I'd like to avoid a situation where people who have an attitude to complain don't get a reason to legitimately complain. That's key.

March is good. PLEASE take as much time as it takes to avoid any printing/layout/editorial mistakes. Please, please, please. It would be nice to avoid the revised edition thing.......

I completely agree. Whenever there is a project like this you won't be able to make everyone happy, but by taking the initiative and working with all of us the way you have been, well, it just shows to me that you guys care a lot about the product and those of us that love to play it.

</insert sappy moment warning>
My group enjoyed our experience play testing, as we did this in dedication to one of our friends who passed away, it brought us back together after we had begun to drift apart.

Thanks Mongoose!
