Mongoose
We have also started to discuss the return of Twilight 2000 (likely with another date in mind for it, for obvious reasons), based on a completely different Third World War. However, this is unlikely to appear in 2011, so check back in a year’s time!
Personally, I'd like to see the original gritty setting envisioned in the 1980s intact. It could work out as an alternate timeline/history. Look at the world of Fallout, you've got a world where the 1950s never ended and we get a pretty interesting and unique post-apoc future out of it. So why not do the same with TW2K? Except in this case the world that ended resembles the late 80s and 90s in which the Cold War went hot.
Also, it would be nice to see this turn into a miniatures game instead. Hell, it would make perfect sense to make this into a minis game. Besides, someone else already "ressurected" TW2K and turned it into something called Twilight 2013. And guess what? That version does not have the original cold war gone hot setting intact. If Mongoose is going ahead with this liscense, I think they should distance themselves from the 2013 version as much as possible by staying true to the original setting, and maybe not bringing it back as an RPG.
Anyways, that's just my 2 cents on this, what does everyone else think?
