The new Solomon Kane RPG

There's a review of the Solomon Kane RPG for the Savage Worlds system here:

And some previews here:

Seems like a great book, give it some love! :-)

I join Thulsa on this one!
I already have the Solomon Kane RPG and it really rocks. The book is really beautiful (I know of some companies that could take some good exemple...),
the game system is smooth and quick, the writing and illustrations are excellent. The game focuses on roleplaying rather than number crunching, as more than half of the book is taken by the "Path of Kane" campaign.
The book is really a must for every REH fan, so what are you waiting for?

My first session of this game is tonight... I am truly excited about it. First time I am EVER running a premade campaign.

Do we know what other books are coming out for it? Vincent being a part of this project is a + for sure.

I haven't seen anything on Pinnacles site regarding the future supplements. Their other 'license' savage worlds RPG is based on Pirates of the Spanish Main and they have just announced supplements for that.

I stood in line for over an hour at GenCon for Solomon Kane. It was time VERY well spent! I was already a Savage Worlds fan (my Conan system of choice) so it was a no brainer for me.

I asked Shane Hensley about the possibility of further books for Solomon Kane last year and he said he definately wanted to but it all depended on how well the game sold. If Vincent as said he's already signed for some books, sounds like it's selling pretty well.

I'll check the Solomon Kane forum over at Pinnacle and see if anything has been mentioned.

I think the Solomon Kane RPG is one of the best RPG books I have ever purchased - right up there with Mongoose's Conan. Complete and respectful to the character and his stories (every Solomon Kane story is given a quick synopsis - how cool is that?) while also providing a unique campaign mechanic that covers the entire world. I have yet to play it - hopefully in February. My comrade Kane sent me the SW rulebook prior to my purchase of Solomon Kane's RPG and after a few sessions I think I'll get the rules - a mite different than D20!

Also, the book is just beautiful inside - & out - with wonderful, appropriate art rendered in full, HD color. Very excited about Vincent adding to the line - hopr that is true!

Minor spoiler alert...

Played my first round last night using the one page adventure "Forgotten Victim". My wife is running solo with an NPC sidekick, and are on the way to Devonshire to begin the 'Path of Kane' plot point campaign included in the book. We ended the night with a battle in the graveyard at the Abbey against a group of zombies. Combat is quick and dramatic as 'extras' are downed after taking the first 'wound'.

The great thing about Savage Worlds system is that you don't spend an extraordinary time on preparation if you don't wish to or can't.

It's nice to only need one book at the table as well...

I've been a REH Conan fan for years, and only just purchased the REH Soloman Kane collection of stories. I'm a little ashamed it took me this long to give it a try. I'm only a few stories in thus far, but they've been great! I wasn't aware of the RPG - I'll definately look into it!

Have bought this myself and have to agree with all said before. Have only played a couple of sessions as games master but its going well. My two players(Gideon Crowe-Defender of the faith and Rob Coll Munro-Highland Gentleman adventurer) have set out to investigate the disappearances of several families making their way across Galloway to take ship to the new plantation colonies in Ireland.
Its a variation on the Sawney Beane legend of neighbouring Ayrshire, where the villains hideous appetites have degenerated them into Ghouls that haunt the hills.

Sounds very cool...

That is a great idea for a Solomon Kane RPG adventure! A few months ago I read the book The Flesh Eaters by L.A. Morse about Sawney Beane - great Frazetta cover:

I stopped Conan to start a SK campaign after buying this very well-done RPG book. Like Dpetroc, I used "Forgotten Victim" and the PCs are on the way for Devonshire. The first session was funny. My players like the system and the setting. If I GM Conan again, I will probably use the SW system, it is easier to use. IMO this RPG book is a must-have for any REH fan who is also a gamer.

BTW is it a stand-alone or do we need some rules book?

It's a stand alone book. You get the usual rules, magic (really conan style IMHO) and few animals and beasts.
The last part of the book is describing the SK's world, including a big campaign.

I must admit the book is of really high quality. You can find reviews on rpg.net

I agree. One of the best RPG books I have ever bought in terms of both quality, setting and rules (the other is Hollow Earth Expedition)...it really sets the standard...unfortunately, it also puts many other RPG products to shame!

Now, if only we could officially get a Conan game like this...How wonderful would be to have two books, one for Conan and one for Solomon Kane?
