The Blood Path - Preview

I thought you might be interested in what Jim Abbott and I have been working on lately. A preview of The Blood Path, a work in progress featuring a regional map and the introduction to this adventure for Legend, has been put up on BRP Central.

The Blood Path - Preview [PDF]

I'd like to tell you that Jim deserves every credit for the work he's done in helping turn my words into something pretty epic. Enjoy this little taster.

I don't want to put a firm date on it but I'm aiming to have the finished book to Alex by the end of February. Unfortunately, as a labour of love - so to speak, real-life intrudes and the time available for projects such as this is limited.

that's a nice little glimpse! I like.

Two corrections however - one on the first page of text and one on the last:

1st page, under "Adventure Summary" :

"....The Player Characters begins the adventur.
As the characters ...."

e missing off adventure.

last page of text:

"When all appears lost, Vex will break open the
fetish and allow the Abyss Avatar to possess him.
The Abuss Avatar, a minute fragment of a living..."

Abuss written instead of Abyss.

(Oh, and "orcs" has been given a capital O on page 6 under the segment "Greentown" (no other mid-sentence use has a capital o).

Hope that helps somewhat :D

I'll pass these on to Jim. And I'll spell check the original document myself. Thanks.

Thanks Sam. I did pick up on those spelling errors (apart from the capitalisation of the O in orcs) when I was reviewing my print copy - the 'e' in adventure I accidentally cut off in the layout process.

This, at the moment, is very much a work in progress. I sent Alex the PDF to ensure he was happy with my design choices and proposed layout. This is my first foray into the world of DTP and hopefully not my last!

I like the adventure so far, but I think that some additional background information about Orcish culture would be useful to give GMs some context and help them understand how to portray the Orc NPCs in play. If you want to provide an alternative vision of Orcishness that differs significantly from audience expectations, it is worth giving several customs or cultural features that distinguish Orcs from humans and illuminate aspects of their psychology.

Like I said, that is only a taster so far.
