The BIG meg

Excellent suggestions all around. I really do appreciate all the input and it's going to make this project a lot easier.

I have a block name: Lawrence Tureaud block. Points to anyone who can tell me who this is, without looking it up. :P

There was only one Agro Dome built it was a test and closed due to the violence it caused.

You could have a Skysurfing school on the upper levels as seen in Midnight Surfer and a lot of Crocks tend to bat glide in clubs on the upper levels of blocks where the air is warmer and they can ride on thermals.

Dont forget to include some form of citi-def to watch over the block, ideal for blowing the place to hell when they get bored.

Hmm, I still like the idea of making an aggro dome. I've included an 8 inch room which will have a sign on it called "Aggro Light" which will have another sign pasted diagonally over it that says "CLOSED BY JUSTICE DEPT." and inside the mini aggro there will be the biggest reason for it's closure, a Judge Mannequin.

No guesses from anyone yet as to the origin of name of the block? I pity the fool who can't guess who it's named after....

ANd a couple of you seem to have the wrong idea, this isn't a complete block. I may expand it, depending on how this project goes, but for now it's as my original post states "The fight will be on the lowest level of a block, the block will be closed off (likely abandoned) and the upper floors closed off as well."

I shudder to think how tall I would have to make a full storied one. That and the six foot my six foot removable layers would prove a large problem, methinks.

For a skysurfer shop, is there anywhere that sells cheap plastic surf boards, to scale? I imagine I will probably have to make my own.

Im thinking of building an oxy-pool. I have only seen it in one graphic novel, but its quite a cool concept. I was gonna make some special rules for it, about fire weapons .

Whazzat? Something to do with oxygen I would suppose, judging bt the name and your fire weapon comment.

Seems no one had a guess. the name of my block is Mr. T's real name.

An Oxy Pool is a swimming pool with highly oxygenated water so people can breathe it. So you have people playing cards underwater and suchlike. I can't remember which prog it was in but it had a really interesting layout and looked pretty cool. I remember wishing I could visit one anyway!

There are also Zero-G dancehalls where people can do all thier dancing and drinking whilst floating around.

I looked up your block name the other day because I am a cheat... I always thought Mr. T was his real name ;)

If you make your own, get some plastic spoons from a cafe, they need to have a strengthening ridge underneath in the middle.
gently cut the spoon bowl of, and you will have a rdy made surf board with the propultion engine rdy made.

just need to paint it mad colours

hope that helps

there is a company that has a whole gang on boards but i cant find the link

hope it helps

As I understand it, it is now. He actually changed it legally to Mr. T so that people would be forced to call him Mr.

His business cards when he worked security said "Next to God, there is no greater protector than I"

That one took me a while to figure out. For whatever reason I thought you meant to use the spoon bowls as the board. I get what you were saying now though.

That's an awesome idea.

dont forget a dream emporium

where you go into a sleep machine and dream about whatever you want.

a robot shop

furniture shop.

Cit def recruitment office

Cursed earth travel shop

Vid slug agents

The Dream Emporium is what I meant by "Dream clinic"

When I mentioned the Citi-Def armory I was going to include a recruitment.

The Robot and furniture shops are two great ideas that I didn't think of. :)

People actually travel into the cursed earth on purpose? Are they allowed back into Megacity One?

What is a Vid Slug Agent? Is that like a regular talent agent?

Would a belly-wheel store have any other fatty related items?

Hello there
People actually travel into the cursed earth either on "Helltreks" where there are looking for a new life or as "Jolly's" to go shoot some mutants or whatever , and i beleive they are allowed to return -one way or another.
A vid slug merchant is the Mega city version of Blockbusters rental.
I would think that "fatty " shops would sell belliwheels, flabbon(part of your uncontrolled diet) and other such things.
What about a otto sump ugly emporium .
I tried to do many things on my M.C 1 Model but really ran out of time.
John

Awesome! What i love about this thread is I am not only getting killer ideas for my terrain, but I am also learning a lot about Megacity One.

Do cars still run on petrol or have they found a better way? I would imagine oil is really scarce in 2000AD. I was thinking if I had the road cut into this block I could put in some kind of refueling area, but I would need to know what goes into the vehicles. My guess is that it isn't gasolene or those mobile homes couldn't go for so long after their owners are killed.

Fusion engines (nuclear)

Although call me kenieth's last stand was on top of a great big hover oil tanker...

You could have a stop area for vehicles, doesnt have to say what 'fuel' you use.
Also you could have a access ramp for the car pool below.

And dont forget what ever theme you use for your block, you could have a museum about that person in the ground floor and/or a Souvenir shop.
(Al Capone block, Ronald Regan block)

During the Block war fevour...the big guns of Jed Clampett block opened up.

Hello there ,
I don't recall fuel ever being mentioned in the AD , however i do remember that the city's power came from a tapped lava vein situated in the power tower which was attacked by father earth a cursed earth mutie
who looked like a indian mystic
john

ALright, I am currently assembling the pieces for the Mr. T museum. There is an item I need that seems hard to acquire outside of the states.

Corgi made a die cast A-Team van with a Die Cast Mr T Miniature. The miniature is alittl ebig but would be a fine statue. The Van is !:43 scale, which in my experience is perfetc for GMOC1 scale.

If any of you find it at your local hobby shop do please let me know, as i understand it a gew of you are in the UK.

I found two online for sale. The cheapest being 14 pounds. If you could find anything cheaper I would appreciate it. Also if I had a friend (or future friend) in the UK send it to me I could pay actual postage, and not have to pay the overcharged amount that a lot of online retailers charge. :)

Plus, it never hurts to make aquaintances in another country.
