tethered ship jumping?

I can't brain today: Is there something -- piece of ship equipment, etc -- that allows a ship to tether to another ship with a longer jump range and hitch a ride? Say allowing a jump-1 free trader to hop across a J-2 gap?

For ex building an 800 dt ship and setting aside 200dt as "cargo", but really you've built a 600dt ship with enough extra power to take a 200dt ship along with it.

You know how it is when you have a hundred game books on your shelves and can't remember what's in which one. Is the above an actual thing, or am I thinking of a different game?

Then you just need to calculate the drive performance at the two displacements. I don't think you set the space aside as cargo tho, if the ship was carried internally the displacement would be the same with or without the second ship
