Technomage Pinnace What do you think

Each dummy ship will move and take
damage as normal, and will stay on the table until the Techno Mage performs another Special Action or attacks, or is destroyed.

So no you cant have a hundreds of dummy ships cos as soon as you create more dummy ships the old ones disapear ;)
Another special actin; what about ding the same one again? ;)

I would consider that doing the same action again still constitues another special action. The way your reading it I would suggest should be 'a different special action' if it was meant that way (if it worked that way it would get ridiculous very fast...)

Now your just being silly ;)

But yes the Troligan IS ridiculous :P I mean honestly, playtested or not what the hell were they on when they looked at those stats and said 'yes, that looks like a fair ship for a battle choice and not overpowered at all'?

Im guessing its rather similar to what they were smoking when the Armageddon Saggitarius was drawn up ;)

For some confusion you need more then one TM Ship one is fighting and the other is making then Dummys. So you have still to gues witch one is the right one. And they are only raid level that means turn one you see maybe 15 Tm´s facing you lot of fun for the Insink. :D

Is it just me or did I miss where it's stated what fleets can/can't take TMs as allies?

Or is that intentionally not in, and they're intended, like the ancients, for scenarios only?

You missed it...

Nobody can take TM's as allies. They can only be used in friendly games/individual scenarios.

Really like the techno mage ship, rules are fun and fit with the feel of them in the show. Really nice job, fun special rules and not too scary. I'm looking forward to trying to find a way to use them in the game.

The Earth / ISA must be able to take a Pinnace as an allie, they made a whole tv (well 12 episodes) show about it....

Excalibur and 1 Pinnace, makes a very nice 5 point raid fleet. 8) Well that is as long as you are fielding it and not your opponent . That said as long as it was agreed before hand I wouldn't have a problem with it to be honest.

I do think the Pinnace is a powerfull raid ship, but its also a bit of a 1 trick pony, simply avoid taking beams, take a few scouts and lots of raid and lower ships that can chuck out lots of AD at medium range in all arcs (or position your fleet to cover large chunks of the board).

The only Mage that allied with the ISA was Galen. Remember the TM's were Shadow allies in the first war.

Could the crew be effected by boarding parties? Is that why it's there?

Also, I figured that the +5 initiative was for an all TM ship fleet, but that the "no crew" was a permanent stat.

This does bring up the issue of "when isn't the pinnacle a fleet unto itself?" With whom and when do they ally? It's assumed they would at some time.... hurm....

It was Galen, Londo's helper and another mage that found out about the attack on earth, and that the Drakh took only 1 shadow cloud since that they blew the rrest of the stuff up apart form the Virus.
