When i think of the Technomages and the Shadow War i always hear the song from the Monty Pythons The Holy Grail " Brave Sir Robin away, bravely ran away away!" :lol:
 
I'm curious how Technomages will work from a fleet standpoint. Can your fleet only be Technomage pinnaces or will they have a rule saying if you're playing certain fleets(say ISA, EA, Narn, Centauri, or any League member) you can include one pinnace as a Raid choice?

Why not have some of those 1 ship fleets be mercenary or allies, technomage included?

We have some sort of an idea how they'll work (i.e. we have the preliminary 2nd ed stats for them) but no clue on how they'll integrate with the game in general. I'd be quite happy for them to be available as 1FAP of allies to certain races or fielded on their own.

I'm slightly saddened that the Delta-V2 has sort of slipped under the radar as it's an excellent ship, however fighters in general need to be slightly more viable as independent wings before people will really get stuck into taking Raiders fleets.
 
It might also help the Raiders to actually see the Raiders Nova come out. I finally gave up on waiting and converted one for myself. Didn't use the Endgame convertion instructions from S&P though, I am nothing resembling that good of a modeller.
 
Possible approaches to Technomages in 2nd Edition.

1. Have them be a roll on Other Duties for certain races(either permanently joining you or as a one shot extra ship for your next scenerio).

2. Just state you can blow one Raid point on a Technomage pinnace if you're a certain faction but that if it's destroyed you can't get another.


I'd suggest that all factions should be able to use Technomages except for Ancients(including Shadows and Vorlons), Dilgar(wrong time period plus I can't see them helping the Dilgar even if it was the right time period), Drakh, and the rumored Black Ops EA that we'll supposedly see come 2nd Edition. Everyone else it should make sense, even Raiders in a way(I'd imagine the Technomages are helping the Raiders to distract someone from their true goals or something like that).
 
Cool - the more possibility that they are used the more chance of killing some of the annoying, irritating, stupid Technomages :D
