target and kill score

Hi!

I wonder why some units have a kill score but no save. That's mean the target score will kill them right away so why there's a kill score? May be there's something i don't understand!

Thank you for your answer!

well smoe wear just t-shirts i guess so no save :)

personally I hate the whole plain target score. I mean a highly trained SAS guy needs the same to hit a member of the PLA and some Arab militia guy with an AK, just not right IMO.

I understand why they have no save, i just wonder why they have a kill score if the target score kill them right away. That's why i want to know why there's a kill score, may be i miss some rules in the book that explain it.

Who wants to do the "upgrade card:

Stockpile from a friendly nation: Add flak jacket (armour roll 6+) to infantry unit. cost=25% of total for unit.

Tadaaaaa!

Just a little tooooo expensive, but yea good stuff like that can always be added to the game. A good reason to have those Kill numbers.

I wrote a story recently over on evocommand, and at the end gave a guideline to playing battles with the storyline troops.

One such troops were PLA forces being used as Central American PNAP infantry. They had the BRUSH BANDIT trait which gave them a 5+ save when in cover other than structures.

Have fun with your game, add traits and special stuff for scenarios and campaigns. It's brings new life into your armies.

Another popular house rule concept:

Medic: Leave models that miss their Armor save face down on the table. If a medic can reach them, roll to see if they can re-enter the fight: 1-2 re-enter with no penalty, 3-4 can't move but may still fire, 5-6 remove as casualty. You can add rules for helping wounded comrades move, morale effects, etc, until you're playing Stargrunt II :).

(Why this is relevant to the thread: models that are hit by Kill damage dice don't even make an Armor roll, and are just removed as casualties 100% of the time. So the difference between a Target and a Kill is that one can be saved by the medics.)

That I like. Now to start painting crosses on my extra PLA command squads. >:)
