T-800 & other War Bots

Mongoose
Has anyone ever created a T-800 (without the flesh) under the Mongoose Robot Rules?
I need a quick group of battle bots for a possible encounter but I've never spent much time learning the rules to build "guard/battle bots". Started reading the rules last night and began a couple of sketchy notes, but depending on what the group does, I might actually need something for tonight's game. Are there any stock guard/battle/war bots in any of the books?
Thanks for any help.

Greetings,
The Judge Dredd rpg has quick and easy rules for robots, as well as some sample models both in the main book and in the two handbooks. Their stats are based upon those of regular characters, with options for built in systems, locomotion, armor and so on, making them very easy to use.

Both the mongoose and 13mann books have warbots, I think the Zhodani book does too.

Edit: Page 60 of 13mann Robots has a T-800, pretty tough; there is also a T-600, not quite as tough.

Can't you just make them up for your game, giving them characteristics like you would for any NPC you bring in?

The movies make them strong and tough but not very dexterous or quick making them two legged tanks. No Social Status, normal Intelligence and a high Education representing a large data base. They have no trouble carrying Plasma guns or lesser weight weapons and would have a 1 or 2 general gun skill as they rely on taking damage to keep shooting plus work in groups.

I did find a couple war bots in the Zho book. Thanks for the reminder.
The party only fought 2 versions of them, electing not to continue deeper into more sensitive areas of the ship, closer to the AI core.
Gave them very simple stats...
12-14 armor
6 hull, 6 structure
4d6 laser gun plus a heavy manipulator arm with mono-filament blade on the other arm for the first version "standard" The second version twin heavy support laser cannons that would go full auto with one cannon attacking multiple targets the second would use burst mode for higher damage.

I gave each robot a simple +2 to all combat skill rolls.

Other versions had plasma... they were fortunate enough not to encounter those.

good call....

Usually you have a couple of flavors of warbots..crunch and cheap, with light weapons to serve as cannon fodder robot swarm attackers. And the big boys that pack armor and lots of bang...bang, pew pew....

I've been very busy with other things. I havebeen wanting to dig into vehicles and robots , sadly though I am having to put that on the back burner myself...dern real life, bills, human interaction...you never leave enough time for the fun stuff.

In 1983... i think... my friends and I tried our first hand at designing robots. I design flying beach balls a built-in laser pistol, but covered in spikes. They would fly at high speed ramming into boarders.... at least that was the concept. To be honest I can't even remember if someone got one of the original LBB rules or if it was an article out of an early Dragon magazine. Would be interesting to recreate those using mongoose.

Book 8: Robots is copyright 1986.

Probably JTAS, those were first.

Nice, yeah, robots and creatures are fun by being the "free fire" things you can shoot without moral quibble.

Wait for the 'Transhumanist' book where you realise that that was your grandmother doing some "easy" time as an info-life to earn a few creds.

Why would you want a bunch of skeleton robots? Are they supposed to go "Boo" and scare people?

The answer is yes! That's the point of using a fear inducing image on a population. It's the dead against the living. Rifts Skelebots exist for that reason. Same if you design warbots in animal forms that are generally repulsive to a population such as bugs and spiders or robotic snakes.

First warbots we used back in the early 1980s were homebrewed Cylons for a Traveller Battlestar Galactica campaign. The leaders were still the lizard aliens first proposed for the series until they went all non-violent (can't shoot living opponents wantonly) and used robot warriors. Loved it.

Because I have several miniatures I've been wanting to use.
They don't go "boo" but they do kill really well.
My mini's carry a mini gun, a GLM, and a phased plasma rifle with a 40 watt range
The party never actually encountered those robots, they fought off a couple of the lesser ones and decided not to go deeper into the ship.

I gave them str 14
12 points armor
6 structure 6 hull
and heavy weapons out of the CSC that was close enough to match what the mini's were carrying, including a PGMP.
I'll use them in an upcoming scenario... ;)

I know the mini's don't have armor, but the armor represents the hardened combat chassis. Not really worried that much about the accuracy of the stats, mostly I just want to use the minis. :)

You make the first generation bipedal and human sized to easily interface with all the legacy killing technology left around by the humans you are wiping out.

Once you have used these lads to take control of the factories you can get more creative.

An efficient automated killing machine wouldn't be bipedal.

Nature has shown it is microbial shaped. But try playing "then your character gets sick and dies", and it does not work well in the game.
