Tigleth Pilisar
Banded Mongoose
Probably a dumb question but jsut trying to learn the game.
On page 5 of the manual, step 6 a. is to roll for survival fo the character.
The index of the book refers to 2 places for survival:
Page 8: Survival: Each career has a survival roll. If you fail this roll, roll on the mishap table. This mishap is always enough to force you to leave the service. You lose the benefit roll for the current term only. A natural 2 is always a failure.
Page 58: which simply describes the skill of survival.
The example of character creation on pages 38/39 show that the survival roll for this Merchant career example is 4+.
Where do you find the survival roll for each career? Is it just 4+ for all of them? Why doesn't it either say it is 4+ on page 8, or have a survival roll number in the two pages for each career type like the description of Survival implies? It also appears that in the example the roll is modified because it says +0 to the roll. How do I know what characteristic causes the DM?
Thanks.
