Sturn's Deck Plans (previously named 'May I post a.....')

Nice one Sturn, sir! :)

If I had one small niggle, would be that the stateroom's heads are bigger than my whole bathroom. At 10' by 5' there's enough room for a hot tub! ;)

hehe I agree. I considered the 1.5m playing scale for miniatures. I didn't want to make a shower a 1/2 square, since it would make things confusing when using minis and a character decides to hide in the shower. If you take a look at things, most of my objects and such were increased or decreased in size to make the useable 1.5m squares obvious for play. No partial squares, I didn't want arguments between myself (a referee) and players over where a player could actually place his mini or not.

Well done indeed Sturn!

As a purely personal viewpoint, I've always wondered about each stateroom gets a fresher. I can see that for the Passenger trade, but I've always felt that it was a bit much, especially on some ships that could do with more common areas.

Better for everyone that they all get a bit more space to share, rather than their own bathroom.... Especially for quasi-military vessels but thats my POV.

" You can either have individual freshers, or share a larger set of them and get an equipment locker" Group looks at one of the Players . Cries ring out "Individual ones!"

Take care

Nice job! Any chance you can shrink it to a 8' 1/2 x 11 .pdf? :D

I plan on making a PDF version perhaps with a numbered key and description on a second page, but not sure when it will happen.

When pre-planning to make deck plans, I noticed some "Classic" plans had 6 square staterooms, while others had 4 square staterooms. I wanted a logical reason for the difference. I decided that the 6-square rooms included a complete fresher (and thus no tonnge for a large common one) while the 4-square staterooms did not have a fresher, the extra tonnage was used for a larger common one.

The Scout, as described in Supplement 7, had "large, spacious rooms".

Also see my Seeker plans, which have 4-square cabins and a common fresher beside the galley.

Your Seeker is really very, very good !

Your design is the first one I did see where I can imagine how belting
actually is done.

I would very much like to show it to my players, and then perhaps to
use it in my campaign, if you do not mind ?

Not to belabour such a trifling inconsequentiality, but I remember that my ensuite 'fresher pod' I had in my halls of residence at uni, which was a shower/sink/wc combo, made out of plastic with a sliding door, was probably 1.5m in diameter, or didn't exceed that.

Though being able to have a long soak on a long voyage might be good for morale... :)

Nice ships

Could you do a 100dTon cargo/maildrum, packetship. Useing a converted TL 14 surplus scout hull ( bonded superdense armor ). With 1 or 2 weapons and 2 stateroms for the Pilot/Astragator and Eng/Gunner. Dump the air/raft and expand it's bay to 5 dTons, to hold a maildrum or a standard cargo container. Cut the fuel back to 22 dTons and have only 1 dTon of fuel purifiers, ect., ect., to max cargo space....

 :?:

If you give me a list of the final dTons (using the MGT playtest or the book if you get a copy), I will put it on my list of things to do, but it may be a bit.

Since I completed the Seeker, I'm currently working on a Free Trader while making notes for an Autorealm deck plan tutorial. I'm also going to make a few minor adjustments to the Scout (stateroom config and windshield size/placement) due to comments I received from forums.

As expected, my players really loved the Seeker and the Scout, so I am
now holding my breath for the Free Trader ... and perhaps a Far Trader ...
and maybe a Modular Cutter ... :D

I looked at doing the modular cutter next, but didn't have enough information from the MGT preview to figure out all of the tonnage. I will try it once I get my hands on the book! :)

My graph paper sketch for the Free Trader is done. Next step is Autorealm, but it will be slow going since I'm doing notes and taking "screenshots" for a tutorial.

I started the pencil sketch for the Far Trader. It's tough going so far, the classic versions seem to be way too large. I also may have to change it later once I get MongTrav since I created the tonnage for the ship itself based on the playtest document. The MongTav version of the Far Trader was easy to make, but something might change when I get the "official" version.

Question for anyone: I see all kinds of downloads and websites on the net for "classic" Traveller deck plans, but am worried I'm doing something wrong by making my own version of the plans available for others.. If someone is "in the know" please tell me what I need to do or not do before I get a nasty gram or a knock on my door. :) I have links up to MGT and T5 sites, perhaps I can add some more credits to the deck plans themselves?

Over here, as long as you mention that your deckplans are based upon
Mongoose's rules, and as long as you publish only your own material, and
only for non-commercial purposes, there would be no problem at all.
However, I have no idea how such things are handled in your country.

Besides, it would obviously be a very bad idea for Mongoose to stop fans
from producing their contributions to the system and setting. I really can
not imagine that they would make such a blunder, because they really
should be happy about fans making their own materials for the game.

Anyhow, thank you again for the deckplans - and please keep them co-
ming ! :D

Mongoose has stated several times that FREE STUFF IS OK.

This discussion came up about all the Fan Sites (and Fan Zines) out there. Mongoose took the incredibly practical stance that if it was free, they were not going to worry about it.

If you want to publish it and make money off of it, you will have to get a license from Mongoose.

I am in the middle of running a Classic Traveller campaign at the office over lunch once a week (We are on our 9th session) and my Copy of Mongoose Traveller arrived today! We will be converting over and I thought I would share a sketch of the player's ship in our campaign:

http://doodlebot.net/redoubt/?p=124

It's a Custom Imperium "Deep Scout" designed for covert infiltration and reconnaissance. It took a near Meson hit at the Battle of Two Suns (Fourth Frontier War)and has lost three crews since then..Will the players be the fourth?

Probably not, otherwise the campaign would suck.

At any rate, I am running the old "Tarsus" Boxed Traveller module. Lots of fun and a bit of Mayhem to boot.

Very nice sketch. I wish I had your skill to add pictures to my deck plans.

Again, I really like it ! :D

It is a very clear and reasonable design, and I especially like the passen-
ger attic and the air raft bay.
