Stupid question concerning points based fleets

I only just started playing ACTA2 and came across a question - when you buy a capital ship, say, with 4 flights of fighters, are you required to pay the pts cost for the fighters, or is it included in the "carrier"'s cost?

Normally, if the ship has the fighters included (according to the ship stats), you don't need to buy the fighters for the ship separatly.

BUT for some fleets, you have the option to upgrade flights to other types of fighters. You can also do this for fighters based on ships. You only need to buy the upgrade cost in order to do so (if I remember right, those upgrade costs are noted in the special rules for each race?).

Heres the kicker

what is worth what now?

usually the rules states that you can replace A type figthers for B types or breaching pods(troops must be supplied from ship)

or pay 1 patrol point to replace uptp 4 A types with spiffy C types

so is the Battle point with a patrol point of upgraded fighters worth a BP and a PP or is the ship still worth a BP and the upgraded fighters counted seperately

then you get into campaigns with carrier resupply

although you will be happy to note that there are only 3 fleets with upgradeable fighters like this, Crusade era, Centauri and Raiders.

and if someone is playing the raiders, just let them do as they want they already really hurt themselves

as for Crusade/Centauri and the firebolts/rutarians, there is enough arguments on that subject that you can search the forums and decide how you want
