Stryker Armored Vehicle

Instead the Marines get the EFV in the game.

In the real world the LAV-25 is expected to reach end of life in 10-15 years. While stats could be made for the LAV-25 we would most likely only see support variants by the BF:Evo time frame.

What is an EFV? Do you have a link to some info on it?

As far as I know of the LAV-AD is the only AA vehicle the USMC operates, so that seems like it owuld be a good fit in the game.

Check the Future weapons thread for more..

What is it with Marines and ugly vehicles? The EFV looks like it was made by Volvo.

You didn't have to talk them out of Strykers

You mean something like this:

http://www.volvotrucks.volvo.fr/trucks/global/en-gb/aboutus/history/1930s/TVA_and_TVB.htm

...or:

...or you were perhaps referring to the offroad m/42 KP:

Ugly as sin, but it would be cool in a Judge Dread game. :P

Nezeray

the m/42 KP was nicknamed the coffin due to it's shape,, i would not feel comfortable riding a vehicle with that name!!

These ARE Volvos... and Scanias too... :D

If you are talking about the m/42 it was ordered in 1942, hence the m/42 designation, and was delivered beginning in 1944. The series of trucks built by Volvo were scrapped in 1970, but the series built by Scania (same specification and looks) kept rolling for several more years as UN vehicles during the Congo crisis and later on Cyprus, and were rebuilt and upgraded during the 80's. I don't know if any of them are still in service, though.

Scania or Volvo - doesn't matter - sturdy and dependable both of them! My stepfather used to be a truck driver and he was right proud of all the Volvos and Scanias he got to drive, although I think he may have liked the Scanias a little better than the Volvos.

Pfft! I got in an accident on my bicycle with a Volvo...and won!

Strykers were originally statted out and planned, but as mentioned above the "EFV" (which may end up with a different name) made more sense, so we ought to see that. Don't expect the Stryker to show up, since it's not supposed to be around in that timeframe anymore (except maybe for Guard/Reserve units). Remember, it's an "interim" vehicle, designed to be a place-holder until the Army can get it's Future Force concepts up and running. Of course, looking realistically it may end up still being around given what the Army wants out of the programs.
