Strontium Dog RPG - The Agony!

Oh the agony of waiting for this sucker. The anticipation. Just about the best 2000 A.D. setting rpg-wise, especially when you also factor time-travelling jobs into the equation so you can have your mutant bounty hunters chasing down the likes of Genghis Khan. *sigh*

cheers!
Colin

Agreed! I need my SD fix NOW!

Someone, please tell me that Loz is about to start working on Strontium Dog.

I'm really looking forward to Strontium Dog!
Can't wait to run a mutant bounty hunter campaign with Traveller Trappings!! Rock On!!

strontium dog will probably be just the right level of wacky and scifi for my current group to get into so count me in as a difinite buyer for the rulebook once you get it done guys.

Its nearly finished.

And its very wacky.

And deadly. Don't argue with anyone carrying a heavy blaster.

Loz,
Could we get some previews or at least some tid bits??
Regarding the "wacky" element can it be played grim and serious also?
Thanks!!

Previews will come in good time; the manuscripts not quite finished yet, and bits may change, so you'll need to be patient.

But to answer your second question, of course you can play this game grim and serious. Hell, Strontium Dog as a saga was extremely bleak and, for all its wackiness and in-jokes, it was making some serious points about prejudice, hypocrisy, religion, politics and heroism. I've made sure that all these themes are covered in the Referee's Chapter. Strontium Dog's got comedy, but its serious comedy, as they say.

Thanks Loz, I just was looking for clarification on the "wahoo" factor. Really looking forward to this product!!

It should be very cool. I can remember sitting there with my copy of Starlord comic at the age of 12. Always loved Strontium Dog and funnily enough it was one of the things I based my first ever Traveller campaign around a year or so later - that and the Stainless Steel Rat books (another comic series I'd like to see republished)

I always loved S.D. also. Back in the day we converted our Gamma World mutant characters to Traveller, had them break out of an Imperial Prison and were wanted fugitives accross the galaxy. Good times!

Will we be able to play Gronks?

If you really, really want to. But I think you'll find your Survival rolls for careers rather on the high side. Like, End 11+ (and Gronks have a naturally low Endurance, so a -1 won't be unlikely).

Oh my poor heartses! Crumple. Die.

Strontium Dog, is going to rock as much as Dredd did. I've got a good feeling about this. (Was dead on for Dredd, convention and demo wise)...

I want my Durham Red setting as well. Rex is a demanding Fan.

I'm really hopeful about this one. I love the campaign opportunities with this setting! Mutant Bounty Hunters in Space!! Uber Cool!

Oh it can go far beyond Mutant Bounty Hunters in Space. When you start with Dredd, then branch out into Strontium Dog, then move forward into the Durham Red stuff (tossing in some ABC warriors Rogue Trooper and Ro-Busters along the way).

The options are limitless. :D Kinda like what Warhammer 40K wants to be....
