Stories from Legend

Hopeless

Has anyone tried or thought of writing up a story based loosely on a game of Legend?

For example when I started threads looking for advice and comments on games I'd run has anyone thought of writing a short story inspired by a game using this system?

Just curious was wondering if this was the right place for this but since I wasn't suggesting starting up its own fiction line i was wondering whether this had been tried whether as writing up a log by one of your players in their characters own words so to speak.

What would your feelings on this be?

Would you like your players to keep an up to date blog of sorts explaining how the adventure happened through their own character's "eyes" and would you be willing to mine this for information such as if they unexpectedly expand on their character's background which was omitted on their character sheet (like my players did, the best I got was that one player had an occasional moan about their character's older brother getting all the credit and the family title and estate!)?

Hi, not sure about blogs and the like as I'm currently sans gaming group. In the meantime, having gotten back into gaming in preparation for a return home, I'm testing the % skills based systems (MRQI and II, Legend). I run a solo character with a series of random generation systems and have kept logs for all the characters so far. This allows me to test my hunting, tracking, fishing, trapping, weather, terrain generation, overland movement and other systems as well as combat of course. First two days of a northern herdsman's journal below for what they're worth:

Gullinvoll (9th month) Sontag 1st - Overcast skies with 6 mph winds from west, in woods by medium lake. Explored all around lake but little of interest except a fisher I saw, missed my shot. Head south into more open brushland. Made camp early evening. Saw a white fronted goose just before dusk but missed with my arrow. (9/1)

Gullinvoll (9th month) 2nd - Overcast skies with 32 mph winds from west, Thick fog for 3 hours, starts 5:44 am. Very foggy this morning and very high winds from the west. Strange and eerie. Heading back into woods to northeast to avoid wind, spooked a black bear en route. Late afternoon moved south out of woods into brush. Camped. (18/1)

Yes. It's called "Paleborn - The Inheritance." I haven't published it online, because I want to write up some sequel short stories following on from it that expand upon the setting.

My players have a hard enough time remembering what happened the previous session (and we play weekly!), so getting them to write a blog would be, shall we say, difficult.

However, I do enjoy reading blogs and campaign writeups, mainly so that I can steal ideas and use the stories in my campaign.

The power of the internet now means that anyone can set up a blog and write as much detail as they want. This can only be a good thing.
