Still NO Minis (Matt Sprange please read)

The rule book pages are like they have been damp or something, slightly rippled. When you open the book it sounds like its cracking.

Thanks for your help guys.

I'm still waiting on replacement parts for my original minis order, I hope I don't need to get replacements for my last minute order as well when it finally shows up.

Well, take a look around - the studios are interested in Indiana Jones, Iron Man, the new Star Wars series. . .

How many star ships are seen in Indiana Jones or Iron Man? Star Wars is meh... besides, its not going to be a question of whether there is going to be models for Star Wars.

I was talking about scale models of star ships, like the Star Fury and B5 station done by RM. Currently the only B5 ships you can get are done in resin and cost $300.

What really chaps my hide is how many Star Trek ships have been done. I *hate* star trek ship designs. 90% of them are so unimaginitive. Saucer, warp drives, something to connect the two, BAM! ST ship.

And the fact that Indiana Jones or Iron Man contains no space ships matters to the studios because...? All they care about is is the show a nice safe way to extract maximum amount of money from the unwashed masses.

Any model company with any sense is going to produce a scale model of Iron Man rather than an Omega.

And dragging this thread back on topic... I received the last of my ships just now.

Just got my last 4 ships today (Drakh Carrier, 2 Cruisers and a little Tantalus). Better late than never :D

Indeed :)

You should all be seeing your models within the next week or so now, parts and replacements about a week after that.

Great. Just what we need, yet another Star Wars game . I like Star Wars, but realistically I think I'll pass if that's the new space game you're planning (and no, I don't expect you to reveal whether that's true or not - just a general comment that I have no interest in such an idea). Personally I'll stick with B5.

Ah well...

Cheers, Gary

I think you guys are completely misinterpreting Mathew's comments. He's saying that the studios aren't interested in Babylon 5 right now, they are only interested in supporting their latest greatest thing that is sure to generate income. Not something old that has already faded from the general population's memory, if they even ever knew about it. To me it didn't sound like he was hinting at what they (Mongoose) will pursue next. I could be wrong though.

well B5 doesnt get them much money, either through a liscence or through flops like last years TLT unfortunately. need better than that to raise peoples interest in what is quite an old program really.

Don't forget that Star Trek will be getting a reboot in December thanks to JJ Abrams, and no doubt there will be myriad merchandising opportunities off the back of it...

You know...

"Space: Above and Beyond" had some sweet ships. And opens a new angle for ground combat, too...
I could get into a SAB game...

Flop?!?

Given that it had good sales and that a new DVD anthology has been commissioned for later this year (if all goes well) then I wouldn't call it a flop. Don't forget that WB only commissioned this second DVD based upon TLT sales!

copied from wiki:

At the Emerald City Comic Convention in May 2008, after the writers strike, JMS briefly updated fans on the prospects for more releases. He noted that two divisions of WB seem to be 'discussing' wanting a feature film or more Lost Tales but come to an agreement and haven't gotten to the point of guaranteeing JMS total creative control in the case of a feature film. The budget for the first disk was only 2 million dollars.

That's all I could find. I wonder what stories they would tell...
