There are a number of reasons why the Death Star could not have done what was shown in the "How it Should Have Ended" video. One, the Death Star's laser is listed as "One shot". Two, the Rebels won initiative and chose to move first. Besides, the Empire hadn't spotted that the Rebels had a ship in hyperspace reserve. And they'd forgotten to fit the Death Star with an anti-fighter grid.

During the rematch, the Death Star Mk. II had a laser which was not just "One shot". They'd also brought a bunch of ships to use as initiative sinks, but so had the Rebels. This time the Empire won initiative, made the Rebels move first, then fired first. But they still hadn't fitted the Death Star with an anti-fighter grid.

Good news: the latest shipment of miniatures has now arrived in the UK.
Bad news: it arrived at Heathrow Terminal 5... :lol:
