Starting Force Suggestions?

Hi.

I have recently joined A 2, 3 with me, udge Dredd Fan-group and we are planning to do a campaign were all 3 of us get to choose 3 of 9 forces and get to use each force at least once a week.

We are even allowed to recruit 1 permanent Mercenary from the start, but he/she/it costs triple, not doube his/her normal cost.

We each get 850, not 500 credits to start, I have Street Judges, Al force of all 5 Angels and 350 points of Mutants and Judge Cals Retinue, 1 foe has Sov Judges, Fatties Mob and City-Death Squad and the other has Brit Judges, Deamonic Cabal and Street Punks.

So bearing all of that in mind what you guys advise is the best possible Gang/Tem/Force of each type I have drswn that is both varied and fairly powerful?. Please advise a 1st timer

Why no suggestions, can you guys please give help and advise. Also the campaign has been delayed indefinitely due to the guys I was going to do the campaign being, for reasons I cann't say, been rendered unable to take part and between the models lend or given by friends or coverted from other systems we have 1 of every unique/named model in the game as well as at least 3 of every none-unique model in the game

I have never played with Cal or the Angels but as far as the judges go, it's hard to go wrong with them. I prefer to take 1 riot judge with shield along with standard judges but since you're starting with 850 instead of 500, look into getting a heavy weapons judge soon. As for psi judges, I either start with one so I can build them during a campaign or don't take one at all, but that's just me.

All mine are 500 point gangs, but pretty standard to do two heroes and fill up available points with minions. Each gang has unique bits that make choices fairly obvious. For robots I always take a Demo droid hero, a tooled up servo hero with spit gun, and fill with robo dogs and maybe a mini-droid with rifle. For robots, the armour upgrades are a solid choice. For Judges, you don't get much for 500 points, so 3 will be pretty standard, and I'll try and get a psy judge in there for campaigns. Fatties kinda suck (they are Darlecks...a single staircase defeats them), but again a couple of heroes and a minion plus a fats fan is usual. You want to get into melee so pay for the best armour you can afford and a good weapon that gives you a parry. Mutants are super cool....I generally go for 3 heroes here...a desperado with a laser rifle, a mutant psyker, and a mutant melee specialist. You'll probably only fit in one minion here, but this is a very strong gang. For Sovs it is all about the Sentenoid....just fill with judges, and paying for the carbine is a no brainer.

Moments after eating a fattie hero in melee, the sentenoid guns down the last judge.....
