Starship Weapon Types

I've been going though the starship statistics and I'm running into confusion regarding some of the starship weapon types.

1. On page 101 of High Guard, the Sylea Battleship has Large Meson guns.

What does Large mean?

2. On page 99 of Universe of Babylon 5, the Aurora Starfury has Pulse Cannons, and Light Pulse Cannons

What are cannons? Are they the same as Pulse Lasers and is Mongoose just not adhering to their own naming conventions?

What is the difference between Pulse Cannons and Light Pulse Cannons?

3. on page 6 of Warships of Babylon 5, the Hyperion Heavy Cruiser has Heavy Pulse Cannons, Medium Plasma Cannons and Light Pulse Cannons

What is the difference between Heavy, Medium and Light?

To sum up, what do all these different size classifications mean and how do they affect the weapon stats? Is there some place I can find this information because I haven't been able to find it yet.

1. On page 101 of High Guard, the Sylea Battleship has Large Meson guns.

What does Large mean?

The weapon is listed as a Bay weapon, and if you take a look at
page 48 of High Guard you will find the "Large Bay" as one of the
New Weapon Mounts introduced in High Guard, and there also the
battleship's 100 ton Meson Gun and its stats.

2. On page 99 of Universe of Babylon 5, the Aurora Starfury has Pulse Cannons, and Light Pulse Cannons

What are cannons? Are they the same as Pulse Lasers and is Mongoose just not adhering to their own naming conventions?

Mongoose is using the naming conventions of the setting they adapt
the Traveller system to, so if in Babylon 5 the weapons is called a
"pulse cannon", it is also called a "pulse cannon" in the Traveller ver-
sion of Babylon 5.

Since I do not have Universe of Babylon 5 I cannot answer your other
questions.

The Babylon 5 Mongoose Traveller books have their own weapons, different from the core rulebook. They aren't just renamed versions of core rulebook weapons. Page 98 of the Universe of Babylon 5 book has most of the weapons.
