Starfury Variants

Does anyone know if there are plans for a starfury variant with missile racks, as seen in thirdspace and the later series, as this would improve the starfury and make it at least the t-bolts equal in most ways except planetary assault, and the missile racks would not reduce its dogfighting capabilities. I think the starfury could benefit greatly, maybe have less AD than the t-bolts racks but still have them for attacking capital ships.

There are plans for at least two more Starfury variants, some of which carry missiles. But Auroras with missiles aren't planned. (Remember 2e info may change).

but there were versions of the aurora that had four hardpoints on each of its wings, some had dumb-fire missiles, and later they had similar missiles to the ones found on t-bolts, but still had its good dogfighting capability, and there was also a badger class starfury, but im not sure it was ever seen in the series.

Seen in "A Voice in the Wilderness Part Two"

Which episodes were the missile armed Starfuries in?

We did see the Aurora with missiles on its wings in Thirdspace. However, as far as I am aware as a playtester there are no plans for a mini or rules for it.

In 2e there is (currently):

Nova
Tiger
Aurora
Badger
Thunderbolt
Firebolt
Black Omega
and one other

types of Starfuries.

Its great to hear that the EA is getting more all the time again. Instead of making other fleets more well rounded and more interesting to play and as such that would send more EA players to get into other fleets and that would in theory make the game more stable. But lets just stick with the same old same old.

Greg,

So do most of those 'furies use the existing models that are out or are there going to be more models coming out in the future. Seems kind of outrageous to have so many fighter versions, even when you cover the three eras as the Aurora was the main fighter in the series and movies.

Tiger, Aurora, Black Omega, and Tbolt are out already, but what do the NOva, Badger, and Firebolt look like compared to what is already available?

Thanks,

Chris

The nova looks virtually identical to the Aurora, the Badger is an Aurora with misisle racks and a rear-facing second cockpit. So you could concievably just use the old Starfury mini for them. The Firebolt is the Thunderbolt's replacement for the Crusade Era.

As far as I am aware there will be new models, but I might be wrong. please bear in mind I am just a playtester.

Lorcan is right about the Badger - (Aog did a B5Wars mini http://www.agentsofgaming.com/ob5ea.htm ) The Nova, as see in Chameleon Ecclective's Earthforce book is indeed almost indistinguishable from the Aurora. I don't know what the Firebolt will look like.

As a playtester we really only get to see the stats and only very occasionally get to see pictures of any models in progress.

Well i play EA and other fleets. I play minbari and ISA and i expect most other peole have more than one fleet so your second point is wrong already, and 2e will probably prove your first wrong as well

Plent of fleets are getting something new in 2e. Not to mention 2 new fleets (3 if you count the Pak'ma'ra). There are a large number of new models planned for 2e (maybe 40+). Valen is my Name asked about Starfuries so I answered him.
